Learning Targets: At the end of the lesson, the students CAN:
Write the linear equation y = mx + b in the form Ax+ By = C by:
1. Identifying the standard and slope-intercept form of the linear equation
1.1 rewriting the equation y = mx + b into Ax+ By = C

II. Learning Experiences
A. Clarifying Understanding
Directions: Rewrite the following equations in the form Ax + By=C on the right column.
Given Equations Solution

1. y = -2x + 6
Answer: 2x + y = 6

Answer: -x + 2y = 6
2. y = x + 3

Processing Questions
1. How did you find the activity?
2. How did you get your answer?
3. What part of the activity did you find difficult to do/follow? Why?
4. How were you able to answer the difficult item(s) ?
5. What are the properties did you use in answering the problem?
B. Framing Concepts
Directions: Complete the flow chart below illustrating the process of rewriting y = mx + b to the form
Ax + By = C. You can add more boxes if necessary.

C. Lifelong Learning

When you were rewriting one form of linear equation to another form, you looked back on your
previous knowledge about simple properties of equalities. Some people believe that looking back
can sometimes help us solve our present problem. There are those also who believe that in order
for you to know how far you were able to go, you also have to look back. In your life, have you
ever encountered a situation wherein you had to look back in order for you to overcome the
problem you were facing? Were you able to solve your problem? How did your past helped solve
your problem?
