About Cool Cities
Cool Cities is a national campaign of the Sierra Club to
encourage local governments to take real action to
reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by endorsing the
U.S. Mayors Climate Protection Agreement initiated by
Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels in 2005. Since then, over
1000 cities have made the commitment to promote
energy sustainability, environmental stewardship and
climate protection.

Support From Dover

Anthony DePrima, Dover's City Manager, is actively supporting
Cool Cities by writing letters to all Delaware mayors and city
managers, describing how energy sustainability, environmental
stewardship and climate protection policies can help local
governments of all sizes. Dover has made numerous energy-
saving improvements to facilities and street lighting, saving
thousands of dollars each year. Dover is also in the process of
building a 10 megawatt solar photovoltaic “Sun Park.” This
solar energy will assist the city in reducing the amount of
power consumed from the electrical grid and shaving peak-
hour consumption needs.
Dover’s City Manager
Anthony DePrima supports
