SUMMARY
Reinforced concrete is the use of reinforced concrete steel rods or meshes , called armor .The
concrete has high compressive strength but its tensile strength is small , as in reinforced
concrete , the concrete does not withstand tensile steel but . On the other hand it should be
noted that the structures are deformed in the presence of stresses they must resist and balance
loads mediantes internal efforts and external deformations. A structure should be safe against
collapse and functional in its use to fulfill their purposes. The operation requires that the
deflections are small enough , vibrations are minimized , etc.

Safety requires that the resistance is suitable for all foreseeable loads , if the loads and
resistance could be accurately predicted , would be guaranteed safety by providing a slightly
higher applied loads capacity.

Structure: It is all type of construction formed by one or several elements linked to each
other that are destined to an action of a series of forces applied on them.

Deflection: In engineering, deflection is the degree to which a structural element is displaced

under a load. It may refer to an angle or a distance.

Deformation: Is the change in size or shape of a body due to internal stresses produced by
one or more forces applied to it or the appearance of thermal expansion.
