Central locking via the remote control does not work either sporadically or
permanently, but the locks can still be operated manually. Missing synchronization
between the remote control key and vehicle may occur because the battery has
been disconnected or the battery in the remote control has been replaced. If other
senders operate in the same frequency range (mobile phones, TV stations, wireless

2010 Audi A4, when I press the lock button the lights flash but the alarm doesn't chirp like it usually does. It
only locks the drivers side door and the 2 rear doors, the front passenger door remains unlocked. It will
periodically work, the alarm sound chirps and all the doors are locked. Any suggestions?

My 2007 A4 went in for routine maintenance while I went on vacation. The primary key fob that remained
home no longer worked. I was scheduled to visit the European repair shop again until I found this article.

2012 Audi Q5: The car registered a "low battery" for my Key Fob (not wireless type). After replacing the
batteries in two Fobs, neither would work, although they would work to operate the car... so car recognized
them. About this time I was ready to pull my hair out... so, "maybe I had placed the battery incorrectly".
What the heck, so I place it backwards... nothing. By this time I had just about given up. I pressed the
button... nothing. I put the battery in CORRECTLY and IT WORKED!! So, if this happens to you, try it.

Took key apart again. Removed and reinstalled the new battery. Never put the top piece back on the key
for better acccess while the key controls was in the ignition Unlocked the door with the mechanical key.
Inserted the key into the ignition and turned it to "on" position. While it was there I pushed the lock and
unlock button several time until I heard a click. Then I removed the key and the remote worked. After a few
curses on Good Friday. I done for life now. LOL

Didn't work for 2003 Audi A4. What worked was inserting the key and while inserted, depressing the lock or
unlock button on the fob, which appears to have synched the remote to the car. Subsequently works like a
champ.

My 2003 audi a4 remote suddenly and without warning stopped working when I came out of a "Office
Supply" store. Tried your synchronization tip and it worked perfectly. Thank you for the tip.
