I am currently studying Masters Degree programme in Regional Geography at the ABC University in
London. Having looked through the materials of the Foreign Department of my university, I was very
delighted to find the opportunity to spend one semester learning geography at the University of XY. I have
decided to apply for this programme because I am sure it would strongly enrich my future studies and
help me in my prospective career. Moreover I consider this programme as a great opportunity to get in
touch with British culture and educational system. Last but not least, I am very curious about different
approaches to the geography at the foreign university.

I have chosen to apply for University of XY, because I really like its module system of study. I specially
appreciate the wide range of offered modules and the freedom in making your study plan. Many of the
modules offered are unique for me, because there is no equivalent at my home university. Very important
for me is also an Excellent rating for teaching of the Geography department and the overall friendly
atmosphere at both the university as well as the city. The third main reason why I have chosen XY is its
Urban and Regional Policy Research Institute. It specializes in interdisciplinary research on key regional
and urban policy issues, which is the field of geography very familiar to me.

During my prior studies I have found out, that I would like to specialize in Urban and Transport
Geography. The University of XY gives me a chance to get in touch with these subjects through modules
from both Department of Geography and Department of Town and Regional Planning. In my last year at
the ABC University I worked on an empirical study with main focus on transportation costs of
suburbanisation and urban sprawl. I really liked my project and I am keen to continue in it. I would like to
use my stay in XY for further developing my skills in empirical research and starting working on my
diploma project. The possibilities that gives me University of XY further expand those at my home
university. I would take modules focusing on Transport and Urban geography and European Studies.

I would very much like to spend one semester at the University of XY. This would give me a chance to
deepen my geographical knowledge in the inspiring, creative, and cosmopolite environment of one of the
largest British universities. Furthermore I could improve my English and increase my confidence in
passing the TOEFL examinations after I return. Moreover, I am confident that my experience in London
would be extremely exciting, fun, and valuable for both my studies and overall general development.

2.Tulislah Motivation letter dengan bahasa usantai namun tidak berbelit-belit.

Motivation letter merupakan sebuah surat yang berisi motivasi kita, mengapa kita ingin melamar
pekerjaan atau beasiswa tersebut dan apa nilai jual dari diri kita, oleh sebab itu sampaikan hal tersebut
dengan bahasa yang santai namun tetap mudah di pahami dan jelas, tidak bertele-tele.

3.Fokus pada kelebihan yang kita miliki.

Dalam motivation letter kita juga harus memiliki nilai jual bagi diri kita, kita harus memberitahu apa saja
kelebihan yang kita miliki hingga kita layak untuk dipertimbangkan dalam perusahaan ataupun beasiswa
tersebut.

4.Ingat, kita menulis motivation letter bukan Cv

Motivation letter dan CV adalah dua hal yang saling melengkapi, namun keduanya tetap saja berbeda.

sebagai staff PKBH FH UGM. Setelah melihat visi & misi dari Lembaga Bantuan Hukum kampus ini,
saya percaya bahwa saya adalah seorang yang pantas dan sangat berminat untuk mencoba mendaftar.
Ketertarikan ini dilandasi oleh latar belakang saya di bidang hukum yang tentunya tak lepas dari bangku

I am Yona May Rahayu, the 4rd year student of English Department University of Lampung. I am the
second daughter of three children. beside I interested in english language, since in elementary school, my
teacher said to me that I have skill in learning english language. So, I always increase my ability in
english language until I choose english as my department in university of Lampung.

Since in senior high school until now, I have been thinking about my future. How is my education and my
career. It supports me to make my future brighter. Since in senior high school, I had followed many
organization like OSIS, English Club and KIR (Karya Ilmiah Remaja) or sciance students project. I always
be a winner in speech competition and now I still follow many organizations like BEM (Badan Eksekutif
Mahasiswa) Ikam Lamtim (Ikatan Mahasiswa Lampung Timur) or the relation between students who
come from east Lampung and IFL (indonesian Future leader). Beside that, in the 2th year, I was be the
young delegation of Lampung to Indonesia that was held by KEMENPORA RI (kementrian Pemuda dan
Olahraga Republik Indonesia). from these activities, I have learned and realized that education is very
important in our life.

I always want to study and get the new knowledge, so I always search the way to continue my study until
I know that in Indonesia there is a scholarship named LPDP and it has modern language program at the
university of melbourne. I choose LPDP because it provides full financial assistance for students like me
who want to continue their studies abroad. I choose this university because this is the best university in
Australia based on Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2014-2015 and it provides the
program that suitable with my skill and passion.

In another way, I choose modern language program because I always interested in learning about
language and I want to continue my study program when I am in bachelor degree. Beside that, with study
about language I can know how is the way to communicate using the good language. I want to introduce
indonesian culture abroad too, so I should be able to use the language well.
I have pointed that educational system in Australia is very good. They are very dicipline with the
education. All the people mainly young generations should be educated. They should study from the pre-
school education until in university. In Australia, we are not only study about the language, but also study
about how to use the language in daily activity. Therefore, joining the scholarship program in LPDP will be
a giant step for me to get better understanding and the best experience in study about the language. After
I graduate from my study there, I want to come back in Indonesia and be a lecturer, I want to share my
understanding about the language and how to use it well to the students.
