Considering the vertical cut recommended at Grid 8 in the Geotech report, the pile system

provided near grid 1 seems to be an overkill. Not clear how the calculations are performed.
Usually Plaxis, Phase 2, GeoStodio etc are used for such analysis. Sensitivity analysis for
range of material parameters, anchor type and its slope etc is conducted.
The angle of 60 degree used for the anchor may not be economical. The angle may be
reduced till the working area allows.
It seems that for Type E3 shoring the piles are spaced very close. Usually a 1D gap is kept
between the piles. Recheck the calculations if piles can be spaced further apart if practically
the cohesion of soil allow to bridge across.
The geotech report recommends that that piles may be required at Grid 8. The excavation is
approaching 10 to 11m which is very high to be cut vertically. Also shortcrete or anchor may
be required for excavation along grid 8. Nothing seems have been specified there.
Section 2 in drawing 04 is not clear. The final fill level seems to be 39.70m. How the pile
system is designed? Is the soil pressure up to top is considered?
