Dear Sir / Madam,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your interest in the CHEP pallet pooling Program.
Each CHEP pallet is manufactured to rigid engineering specifications that are intended to provide a
uniform, stable unit-load platform. CHEP Indias B1210A pallets have been tested for a rated load of
1500 kgs before making the pallet available to our customers. In addition, CHEP pays close attention
to the raw materials used in the original construction and repair of the platforms.

CHEP Indias B1210A pallets are mainly manufactured and repaired with commercially available
softwood, and blocks made from composite wood material or solid softwood wooden block.
Treatment of lumber with 2, 4, 6 Tribromophenol is strictly prohibited. In India, we have two primary
sources of softwood at present:

1. Cut to size lumber from certified sustainable forests in Europe, primarily Germany, which is kiln
dried (moisture content equal or below 19%) and adheres to ISPM 15 specifications; and

2. Softwood imported in log form by Indian saw mills from New Zealand / Australia / USA (compliant
with Indian log import regulations), which is cut to size and kiln dried, which adheres to ISPM 15
specifications.

Currently, all lumber imported into India may be treated with Methyl Bromide, as required by local
legislation.

In order to ensure that the pallets are free of Methyl Bromide treatment, CHEP India does the
following:

Work closely with our Clearing House Agent and customs department to ensure that our
phytosanitary certification is acceptable and that there is no Methyl Bromide treatment upon its arrival
at port in India.

The above process, while time consuming, will help us ensure that the pallets are not treated with
chlorinated or brominated phenolic compounds, halogenated phenols & chemicals with any heavy
metal. Pallets are painted with CHEP blue paint and CHEP logo with white paint. CHEP blue and
white paint are water soluble, acrylic emulsion paint and are free from metals such as Lead, Mercury,
Cadmium and Hexavalent Chromium.

CHEP pallets undergo rigorous inspection and repair as per the PQS criteria developed by CHEP
when returned to a CHEP service center and / or at a customer site. Each pallet is inspected for
debris and/or visible evidence of contamination due to spillage or other potentially unsafe substances.
Any visible foreign material is removed from the pallet, as is debris such as shrink-wrap, cardboard,
slip sheets, stickers, staples and tape. Any CHEP pallet that cannot be repaired to meet the
inspection criteria is removed from the pallet pool.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Ravi Shankar
