Course Presentation
This course is designed for technicians & engineers involved in the installation of the UMTS iRNC
product. It gives valuable know-how information about the physical installation of the iRNC.
The course material is mainly based on the relevant procedures describing the required operations to
be performed:
iRNCSiteModels,
iRNCSiteSpecifications,
iRNCphysicalInstallation,
iRNCandPP7Kancillariesspecification,
It also takes into account some parts of the Passport 7400 Hardware Installation Guide.
Other materials, such as animated slides, on-site movie or virtual images will be provided by the
instructor throughout the course progress.
Some practical on-site tour in the training lab will also be organized.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to understand and perform the step-by-step
procedures allowing the entitled staff to install the nodes of the iRNC platform.
Prerequisites
This course is intended for people who are in charge of the installation of the iRNC platform.
Before taking this course, you need to understand basic principles for UMTS network:
UM0 UMTSIntroduction.
It is also strongly advisable to attend the UTRAN overview:
UM20 RadioAccessNetworkDescription.
Scope
This course applies to the V1.2 UMTS System Release.
