SALARY RANGE: In accordance with RCBOE Salary Schedules.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve (12) months

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

To provide leadership and guidance in the development, implementation and coordination of the
district's technology curriculum; enhance integration of technology throughout the curriculum;
promote the effective use of instructional technology throughout the schools; and, provide staff
with professional development opportunities.
Under special direction, coordinates the district implementation of instructional technology into
classrooms and schools across the district and coordinates the implementation of all K-12 Cyber
Security Curriculum.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES (Asterisk for essential job duties):

1. Provide leadership in the development, management, coordination, and support of the


integration of instructional technology into the Districts curriculum in collaboration with
the Director of Curriculum and Curriculum Departmental Staff. (*)
2. Identify, plan, coordinate and facilitate meetings, project implementation teams and
interdepartmental planning groups in order to ensure meaningful and effective use of
technology in support of the Districts strategic and operational goals. (*)
3. Identify needs and plan District-wide and building level instructional technology related
professional development. (*)
4. Manage the day-to-day tasks and roles of the Instructional Technology Specialists in
developing informational and instructional supports to meet the needs of users in
collaboration with the Professional Learning Department and the Director of Professional
Learning. (*)
5. Participate in the planning and the role building staff will play in the implementation of
technology professional development and curriculum alignment. (*)
6. Analyze data and related processes to support all stakeholders. (*)
7. Provide project management and planning assistance for One-to-One Technology
Initiatives. (*)
8. Develop and oversee the creation of documentation to ensure effective communication
during the implementation and maintenance phase in collaboration with the Information
Technology Department and the Director of IT. (*)
9. Consult with and support teachers in integrating laptops into daily instruction. (*)
10. Support teachers in planning, delivering and evaluating instruction using technology. (*)
11. Promote a virtual learning environment to provide resources, assignments, and other
instructional tools for student access. (*)
12. Implement guidelines for student usage and handling of One-to-One program devices. (*)
13. Create guidelines, processes and procedures for the effective and efficient use of
technology. (*)
14. Discuss care and handling of one-to-one devices at home and school. (*)
15. Promote standards for innovative teaching and learning through staff Professional
Development. (*)
16. Develop and review all instructional technology professional development offerings,
procedures and work practices to ensure they follow established legal, ethical and
security standards and are compliant.
17. Develop curriculum alignment that develops student proficiency in 21st Century skills in
collaboration with the CTAE Department and the Director of CTAE.
18. Coordinate the effective implementation of K-12 technology, computer science and cyber
security curriculums.
19. Collaborate with community, state, and national agencies to ensure the effective and
efficient implementation of technology into district, school, and classroom practices.
20. Assist in the budgeting for ongoing, professional development for all staff using new
technologies. (*)
21. Act as resource to assist in the promotion of technology to address the diverse needs of
students and maximize student learning. (*)
22. Empower staff to reach a proficient level of technology utilization to meet the ongoing
demands of their job. (*)
23. Expand the use of new communication applications for the website, such as webcasts,
podcasts and social media for student learning. (*)
24. Develop public engagement strategies to increase stakeholder involvement regarding
technology and cyber security. (*)
25. Other duties as assigned by Superintendent, Superintendents designee, and the Associate
Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction and Technology. (*)
26. The employee shall carry out such other and further duties, whether specifically listed
above or not, as are assigned or required by such employees supervisor, other
appropriate school personnel laws, board policy, administrative regulation, department
handbook, as are reasonably necessary to the efficient operation of the school system and
its mission. (*)

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:

Thorough knowledge of public education administration and Richmond County School System policies and
procedures (or ability to acquire within a reasonable time), the Strategic Plan, state and federal regulations
and laws. Thorough knowledge of curriculum, instruction, organizational patterns, school operations, and
pupil services. Demonstrated competence in staff selection, training, supervision and evaluation.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to act effectively under stress. Ability to
motivate, encourage, and work with staff to ensure outstanding performance as well as good morale.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

Master's degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in supervision, educational
leadership and school curriculum. Must have prior administrative or supervisory experience. Minimum of six
years of experience in education of which at least three years must be of successful teaching. Other
combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities and
skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.

CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess or meet the qualifications for Georgia educational certification in the field of Educational
Leadership or equivalent out-of-state leadership certification or other expertise in the field of instructional
technology.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Light work, exerting up to 10-20 pounds of force occasionally.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work beyond a 40-hour week and attendance at evening and weekend school and district functions, as required.
Ability to respond to school requirements at any time.

EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the School Board policy on
evaluation of personnel.
