After the discussion proper, the teachers were given the opportunity to ask
questions and to give opinions and reactions in relation with the topics discussed.
The speaker and members of GFPS were very much willing to answer their
queries.
The morning session and afternoon session were adjourned at 12: 00 noon

The primary agenda of the meeting was to prepare and analyze the Gender
policies, plans, programs, projects and activities that would cater its
stakeholders, primarily the students, teachers and parents. GFPS had a prolific

to make siomai, embutido and burger patties. This activity would be economically
beneficial for the participants because it would serve as another source of income
for the family. On the other hand, rehabilitation and maintenance of comfort

The seminar was held at Patio Queen Sofia, Maysan, Valenzuela City for two
(2) consecutive days, June 29-30, 2017. The program commenced at 8:00 in the
morning, starting with the singing of National Anthem, followed by a prayer. Right
after, Dr. Baltazar M. Gayem, Chief Education Program Supervisor of SGOD, gave
his welcoming remarks. He was then followed by Dr. Cynthia L. Ayles, OIC-
Assistant Schools Division Superintendent who delivered an introduction and
message about the goal of the seminar.
The speakers for the two-days training were former School Division
Superintendents. The first discussant was Dr. Rosario C. De Ocera, CESE, and
Retired ASDS from Division of Quezon City. Her topic focused on the Historical
Perspective and legal mandates and basis of Gender and Development. After her
discussion, Dr, Flordeliza R. Mayari, Retired SDS from Division of Valenzuela
talked about Gender Awareness and Sensitivity. Dr. Elizabeth T. Manalo, CESO V
and Retired SDS from Division of Caloocan, conferred the different
examples/concerns of Gender Equality across the world. The last speaker for the
first day of seminar was Dr. Florencia Domingo, CESO V and Retired SDS from
Division of Mandaluyong. She emphasized the different issues in gender in
relation to the development of one nation.
On the second day of the seminar, Dr. Florencia Domingo first had a recap
of what was discoursed yesterday. She then accentuated the topic of Gender Fair

Society. Dr. Norma Adamos, CESO V, and Retired SDS from Division of Las Pinas,
conveyed the guidelines and policies on the planning and implementation of
GAD, along the appropriate utilization of GAD Budget. Then, the participants were
allotted with enough time to scrutinize their respective GAD Plans. The speakers
had chosen three representatives from the participants to present their
respective GAD Plans. They pointed out the gaps and loopholes of the GAD Plans,
eager to enhance and improve the projects, plans and activities for effective and
efficient implementation of GAD Plans. The participants left the training venue
equipped with the needed knowledge, skills and competencies that will be used
in promoting Gender Awareness, Equality and Sensitivity.
