Description of the artifact and how it meets the standard and criteria:

This artifact is a copy of the accommodations page of a students IEP that I had in class.
It shows how I have an understanding and respect the needs for the learners in my
classroom. These accommodations are met regularly in my classroom for this student
and really help this student be as successful as possible in the classroom. It also shows
how I respect other staff in my building and understand their position as well because I
have to work and communicate with this students special education teacher regularly in
order to make sure we are both doing what is best for this student both in the general
education and special education setting.

Reflection on the artifact:

Sometimes looking at all of the accommodations on a students IEP can be

overwhelming but, over time and learning more about the student it becomes habit in
the classroom. These accommodations are things that I am often doing for students
without even thinking of it as an accommodation rather just the help the student needs
to be successful. I also appreciate the help and support of the SPED teachers in my
building because they do a great job making sure the teacher understands the
accommodations that each student needs.
