2. CC moves the squares as the children say, Down, over, over, over, up.
6. CC stays next to the chart, calls a child who is ready by name and
asks:
___, where do you want to go? The child gives a full sentence response
and the chart caller says, Get your clothespin and go now please.
7. CC moves onto the next child, calling on those who are ready. If
a child is not ready, the CC skips them and comes back when all
the other children in that group have been called.
8. CC excuses the last center group with the same script as the previous
center group.
Helpful reminders
o always put the square taken off first on the floor or somewhere away from the chart so the
squares dont get mixed up as the chart caller is rotating them
o the teacher scaffolds the chart caller as needed
o a self start activity (i.e. manipulatives, books, etc) is put at the teaching table for the
children to do until the teacher gets there
o teacher goes to the teaching table to maximize teaching time
