Description of the artifact and how it meets the standard and criteria:

This artifact is a copy of two dictation sentences that go with lesson 3 in fourth grade.
During this lesson we taught the long and short I sound. The artifact also includes the
rubric that will be used to score these sentences. The rubric aligns with the ones that we
will be using to grade students for their report card this year with our new standards
based grading. This artifact shows how I am able to assign the assessments I am giving
in my classroom with the instruction that I am giving my students.

Reflection on the artifact:

I am really looking forward to working with dictation sentences more this year and
seeing how they help my students in their writing. I think that teaching the phonics skill
throughout the week will help my students when they study their spelling words and
prepare for their dictation sentences that are given on Fridays. I think this will be very
beneficial for my students and I hope that it gives us better data to grade with as well.
