ME 352 - Machine Design I Name of Student, Loe, Taser Fall Semester 2017 Lab Section Number 212 Homework No. 3. Due on Blackboard before 8:00 am on Friday, September 15th. (30 points) The important notes for this homework assignment are as printed on Homework 1. Consider Problem 3.26, page 171, a variation of the Scotch-yoke linkage. For the given posture of the input link 2 (05 A), that is, the input angle @ =45°: {) Perform a posture analysis of the linkage using trigonometry (that is, use the law of sines and the law of cosines). ii) Write the vector loop equation for the linkage and list the input, the known quantities, and the unknown variables. Using Cramer's rule, determine the first-order kinematic coefficients of the linkage. If the input link 2 is rotating clockwise with a constant angular velocity of 36 rad/s, that is, @y =-36°, rad/s then for the given posture of the linkage, perform a velocity analysis using (iii) The first-order kinematic coefficients of the linkage obtained in Part (ii) above, (iv) The method of instantaneous centers of velocity. Draw the Kennedy circle and list the primary instant centers and the secondary instant centers, Compare the answers that you obtained from Part (iii) with the answers that you obtained from Part (iv) for the velocity analysis, ZR beer Jase = asen Messe 9) |S/aaly > (Length nB=b 2 250mm Lgivea] aeeer, L om eZ o> Bos be = 133-0] men C7 224.
