For Further Consideration

The following are curriculum extensions to further your study or interest in the topic
we covered today.
Hans Christian Anderson: born in 1805, he was a
prolific Danish writer, creating over 3,000 works during his
lifetime including plays, novels, and poems. He is best known
for his fairy tales which include: The Little Mermaid, The
Emperors New Clothes, The Nightingale, The Ugly
Duckling, among others. Do some research on H.C.A. and
create a pamphlet detailing his life and work. If you like road
trips, take a trip up to Solvang and visit their dedicated
museum to their Danish hero. You can find it upstairs in the Book Loft. Note:
There is a Guttenberg Press there! Take a walk in the nearby park and snap a
selfie with his statue.

Investigate the lives of Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm (aka The Brothers Grimm)
(1785-1863 and 1786-1859, respectively). They are most known for famous
tales like: Rapunzel, Snow White, and Hansel and Gretel. Create an
autobiography detailing their lives and work.

Select, read, and compare and contrast two tales from around the world:
