Change the verbs underlined to the Simple Past Tense.

My Aunt Esah has some very strange habits. She gets up at 2 a.m. and cooks a huge breakfast for herself. It

is always the same breakfast. She has eggs and sardines, and coffee. The first thing she does is, she boils

the water for the coffee. While it boils, she starts frying the eggs. While they are cooking in the pan, she

takes out her tin-opener and opens the tin of sardines. She has one special tin-opener which she treasures

dearly. She also loves her frying-pan which she scrubs and polishes carefully until its copper bottom gleams

and she can see her face reflected in it. She loves it so much that she always talks to it as she cleans it or

cooks with it. She also talks to her tin-opener, of course, and also to her kettle and coffee pot, for that matter.

They have all been with her since the day she was married.
