I'm just fantasizing about the idea of finding a way to draw a line in the sand at
some deliberate point in the maturation process of the human body and have it stay
there. But, obviously, I don't know anything about developmental biology. Like most
science articles written for ABC news, this is designed to get you all excited
about something before adding the caveat that it probably isn't possible. They
accomplished that goal because I'm totally down with this idea, so don't feel
obligated to launch into a description of morphogenesis or whatever just to rain on
my parade. :)

Aging and death are GOOD and NATURAL processes of life...

Life regenerates after death.

Death is as important a part of life as sleep is for the end of an active day.

That ultimately depends. The negative side of aging is a result of cells breaking
down over time and being unable to perfectly replicate each other. If their
telomeres are intact or even regenerating, that does in fact mean biological
immortality or at least significantly delayed onset of aging.

1) If something like this is able to be attained (it's just a matter of when--
there's no stopping it as technology advances), then most people will agree to put
strict regulations on it. Anyhow, as for your "quit playing God" comment--you have
to realize that science has made all kinds of things better for us. Fortunately and
sometimes unfortunately, there's no stopping scientific progress. Not to say that
in some maniacal sense... Anyhow, unless you want to convince everyone to stop all
scientific progress, even if we aren't researching stuff like this, at some point
it will be too easy with our technology to research the 'forbidden' stuff and it's
going to happen. I'm sure of this.

2) Remember, people will age mentally (once fully developed). I doubt you would
have everyone who's 40 years old in a 20 year old body making hoards of dumb
decisions.

that you are wearing down and WILL die one day.

Time doesn't really "give" you w&e, but it does OFFER it to you.

My original point is that the PRICE of experience that leads to wisdom is TIME,
which translates into AGING and that they BOTH "give" you opportunity to gain
wisdom and experience.

That Aging itself stimulates wisdom and is inseparable from TIME...

But it's ultimately up to the person after all imho...

For one, you have no proof of this theory. Sure, it can be assumed that someone
will regret not enjoying life as they are young, but that is true for anything you
take for granted, so with your logic, this wisdom will be gained from other manors
as well, not just physically aging. So, one can conclude that you do not need to
physically age to gain it's wisdom.

It's obvious to ANYONE who ages.
If you NEVER aged, you'd have no reason to change your behavior.
It's because we WILL die that we treasure our existence.

See, you are generalizing everyone. I do not believe everyone, even the wise,
treasures our existence, most do perhaps, but it is an opinion that is not
consistent with everyone. Like I said, this wisdom can be gained from other things
we "treasure", but you can not see that. If you become paralyzed, you will begin to
treasure your life before the accident. If you become blind, you will treasure the
movies and art you took for granted before. This can either build someone's
character or destroy it. There are plenty of young people who are MUCH wiser than
someone who is elderly. You keep relating wisdom to physical age, which is
extremely flawed. You can even take it a step further. People these days can only
live to be about 120 maximum if they are super lucky. This allows them to see ALOT
in the world, which adds to their experience and wisdom. Now, if you were immortal,
had the body for a 25 year old, and have been alive for 1000 years, it can be
assumed that you would have MUCH more experience and potentially wisdom (from the
experiences) than someone who is appropriately aged physically, and has only lived
75 years. Your logic is flawed.

Wow, you must have missed the point of the entire article. We are discussing
PHYSICAL aging. If you can stay 21 forever, you will gain more experience than
someone who is 30 (and who ages), as you will live longer.

And the basis for this SILLY ASSUMPTION is...?

ReplyShare
Avatar
Guest Reverend Atheist 4 years ago
I assume when you said assumption, you were referring to my statement on experience
gaining, correct? There is not much of a physical difference between one who is 21
vs 30, comparatively to someone who is 70, but you can assume a 30 year old has
more life experience than one who is 21, because he has been ALIVE LONGER, not that
he is physically older. Experience is gained from tests, trials, and interactions
with the world. It has nothing to do with the physical age, except for gaining
higher level of understanding, which we pretty much hit our potential in our
twenties. The more you study something, the more you learn, the only factor their
is work and the amount of time required to gain the knowledge, not how old you are.
Now, today, we often see wisdom in, for example, an older doctor compared to a
resident, but that is because we assume he has had more experience. I hope I did
not confuse you, as this is pretty basic logic. There is no basis, just like there
is no basis for time travel. The only basis might be comparing an older person who
has been isolated from the world to a younger person who has been in the middle of
it. The only reason the younger person knows more is because of experience.

ReplyShare

Reverend Atheist Guest 2 years ago
1. I wish you would develop the wisdom of BREVITY!
2. By the time a person is 30 they are MUCH more aware of their mortality - which
demands wisdom!
3. "The more you study something"? Wisdom has virtually nothing to do with study or
even gained knowledge. Now the PROCESS of gaining knowledge often yields WISDOM
greater than the knowledge or ANY experience gained.
DUMB ANIMALS get experience and knowledge - is that wisdom a 2 year old trained
animal?
4. Knowing more is NOT wisdom but wisdom can be gained in the PURSUIT of knowing
more - but even a dancing bear is not what I'd call possessing more wisdom than a
wild one! CERTAINLY not because he "learned" how to dance and has "experience"
performing in a circus!

sterility...and eating well"? really? Sterility is only beneficial when putting

bodies have natural barriers that daily bathing and washing destroys. I would say
medicine has provided MUCH more important things than cleanliness, such as
vaccines, transplants, CPR, etc.

Medical operations were routinely endangered because docs were UNAWARE of the
importance of washing our hands - to rid build up of BACTERIA, regardless of
"putting something in your body" or not!
How many deaths from e.coli could have been avoided in generations b4 simply
WASHING YOUR HANDS b4 eating?
To say nothing of washing your food prep tools!
THIS is the main benefit western physiology has given the world.
Note: this is PHYSIOLOGY not medicine!
CPR too is PHYSIOLOGY not medicine!
... ...
Medicine and surgery have been proven to be the MOST dangerous therapies in the
world!
Deaths from these "therapies" is worse in number and degree than the illnesses they
claim to cure!
... ...
Every culture develops healing science that works for the challenges THEY face.
Western drug therapy works for the problems in the western world - and the problems
they export to more low tech societies.
... ...
No one health therapy or culture is superior to all - they have to be evaluated
based on the challenges the culture faces and how these problems are caused.

Our sole dependence on surgery and drug therapy has produced an obese, frail, drug

Drug and surgery therapies are not superior, just an option to consider for certain

Wow, ok. Every point you used in response to my comment WAS an instance where you
WERE putting something IN YOUR BODY, which I clearly stated. Eating food, surgery,
are examples of your body being exposed to the elements. And yes, Biomedicine and
Surgery IS superior in most cases (as far as the anatomy goes). If you are diagnosed
with bone cancer, are you just going to take some penicillin and hope it resolves
itself? NO, if you want to live, they will need to remove the infected portion of
the bone. All cleanliness does is prevent infection when our bodies are exposed.
There is NO NEED for people to bathe everyday unless they have a medical condition
requiring it. Now, I do bathe daily because society requires it. If you lack
hygiene, you will be discriminated against, but that is a different topic.
-----------
When the term medicine, or medical is used in my statement, it is not referring to
just drugs. It is used to refer to the techniques and science used to treat the
human body, which includes chemistry, biochemistry, anatomy, physiology, and
others. Please pay attention. CPR is part of medicine.
-------
Also, I hope you realize E. Coli is only dangerous to humans when they have not
been exposed to the particular strain, relating to the geographical region. E. Coli
is a natural flora found in our guts, which help with digesting our food.
--------
Please show me studies where surgery and drugs are linked to obesity. Obesity is
commonly caused by the large portions Americans eat, as well as the fast food
restaurants which make it much easier to find a quick meal on the go. which is not
even medically related. The reason why only some of the population may be
considered frail is due to the fact they were suppose to die, but our advanced
medicine saved them, as well as lack of hardship other 3rd world countries have to
endur,..which brings me back to YOUR point on E. Coli which CONTRADICTS your
statement on a frail society. First you state a medical practice of cleanliness
could have saved many from prior infections in the past, now you are saying surgery
and drugs have made a weak society. You need to develop a clear line of thought and
logic in your arguments. Also, many of your points of causes are related to the
culture's society, not medicine.

You say I do not know, yet I am the one posting facts.

Physiology is not just the study of the human body, but nice try with the
definition. It is the study of the FUNCTIONS of the human body. Anatomy is the
study of the structure, which is why they go very well together as subjects.

I do not make up definitions. Medicine is a very broad subject, and covers many
areas. The practice of MEDICINE often involves surgery. Last time I checked Medical
Doctors use surgery as a choice to cure some diseases.
So, based on your logic, those of the third world do not suffer disease, cancer,
illness unless the first world interacts with them? Yes, I completely see how that
is logical. Again, America compared to,..lets say, Haiti, or India, America has
much higher standards of health, and the average longevity of Americans is much
longer. But, I must be wrong, because cancer and disease only exists in America,
right?
Again, you are making assumptions that I am a fundamentalist( and that I would
waste my time with religion) , probably because you have no where else to go with
your discussion. From your syntax, and vocabulary used, it would seem you are
younger, and probably female. Superior's? I didn't realize you were my boss?

I NEVER said "third world countries" - though YES, they suffer these things MUCH
less than we do!
I said "PRIMAL SOCIETIES" - do you even know what these societies ARE?
AND "third world countries" have been interacting for QUITE a while - that's why we
have the NERVE to call them "third world"! (And its also why they have just about
ALL of the problems they DO have!!)
... ...
PRIMAL SOCIETIES are NOT suffering from smallpox, cancer, AIDS, etc. Not without
contact from the west.
The Native American population lost nearly 95% of its population from DISEASES that
the Europeans brought with them.
... ...
There was NO smallpox in America until the early European explorers brought it

world, because that is what they are, just like I have the nerve to call Felis
Domesticus a cat, crazy hu? True, if we have not been in direct contact with a
society, they will not have our diseases naturally, but we also will not have
theirs. Its basic geography, and I am glad you understand,..something. No, there
was no small pox in America, but there was also no Syphilis in Europe. Modern
medicine can cure Syphilis which many native Americans died from. Tell me how
modern medicine would have not use in that situation? Being an Atheist, I would
think you would realize chanting to the sky around a fire does nothing to cure a
disease, but perhaps I am wrong. You keep saying modern medicine (western medicine)
makes the US weak, yet we have lower mortality rates than other countries and a
longer longevity (even compared to primitive cultures), I wonder why that is.
Primitive cultures have their share of diseases too, and no they are not free from
suffering. People have to suffer before an immunity is gained, until they strains
evolve. What you are arguing is not western medicine, it is logistics and how our
people have spread across the world carrying their viruses and diseases others are
not immune to. In this case you are right, BUT there is nothing you can do about
it, so get over it. I'm discussing the affects of medicine and the study of human

LOL!!!

Syphilis was IMPORTED by your enamored "first world" culture!

Ditto SMALL POX and I believe Cholera - this is why I PREVIOUSLY STATED: 95% of Nat
Ams were WIPED OUT BY DISEASES!

When imported - THERE WAS NO CURE for these diseases!!!

(Though arriving immigrants had built up immunities to some degree - having
survived the plague and other diseases Nat Ams were completely geographically cut
off from.)

There was no cure because "modern medicine" had not yet DISCOVERED that bacteria
existed!
DISCOVERING that bacteria existed resulted in "modern medicine" realizing (get

Syphilis was transported from other countries to America? WRONG

Washing hands will prevent Syphilis? WRONG

2 points you just stated (which your entire comment was supported by) are
incorrect.

Syphilis was an American Disease, just like other continents hand their native
disease, yes even primal societies.

Washing hands will do very little to prevent Syphilis, as it is spread by body

fluids, most commonly (you ready?)..SEX with an infected person. Last time I

Ok, I will stop you right there. not EVERYTHING "goes" into the human body, that is
why we have protective layers. I was referring to when those boundaries are
compromised from cuts or surgery. Our skin is naturally/slightly acidic (due to
sweat and sebum) which prevents the growth of harmful bacteria. Other bacteria that
DO live on our skin are considered normal flora, which compete with the bad guys.
When you wash, you destroy this barrier, so over washing IS possible. I would
continue, but you definitely would not get the point. "Sunshine" only carries
energy, no pathogens. With your logic, everyone should be walking around with masks
on. Antiseptic practices are good, but are also easily over used, and are not a
cure all as you are stating. Next time I fall and break my leg, I will make sure
just to wash it off from your far superior medical advice.

And, again, you continue to call me ignorant, yet you have not posted any facts.

Ok, I see now. And I apologize for not following. For a minute I thought our entire
body was covered in skin, ("which Your skin - the bodies LARGEST organ is not made
of plastic!") you were referring to in your previous comment. BUT, now I realize
only your hands are capable of carrying pathogens and no the rest of your body.
Surgeons do wear scrubs, and a mask, correct? I was discussing the entire subject
of cleanliness, not just washing your hands ( I hope you can see that now). Also,
it is just an opinion that it is the "greatest achievement in medicine". There are
MANY things washing of the hands can not prevent or cure.

You may want to look up sarcasm to help you with the above statement.

Also, you might want to look at what you said earlier... " The BEST medical therapy
has given us is the importance of sterility/washing our hands and eating well" I
believe sterility does not only involve hand washing as you stated above. Sterility
can include daily bathing, hand washing, hygiene, etc. as well as the removal of
debris/pathogens from other objects.

You say I strayed from the topic, which I did not. You are the one who continuously
is jumping around. You hit on several points, cancer, skin, western medicine,
primal cultures, mass tragedies, which I was responding to, and you expect me to
only reply about hand washing?

No my ignorant friend...
Cancer is a result of OUR western way of life - primal societies aren't suffering
from cancer, heart disease, AIDS, and the like.
They have NO NEED for "advanced medical technology"!

They don't have car accidents, mass shootings, modern day warfare, etc., so they
don't need trauma wards!

They don't live in HUGE cities with populations from all across the globe, so they
don't suffer Plague, Smallpox and Cholera - not until the "advanced" western

In short, our "advanced" western meds are a match ONLY for the problems created by

You do realize cancer is not caused by western culture, right? It is caused by
uncontrolled cell growth, perhaps from drugs, and other commodities which first

experience cancer, most do not survive. I'm sorry, but I have facts on my side.
Many more die from disease in third world countries than those in first world due

Also... ALL of these things (except CPR - Physiology) are a DIRECT RESULT of

Discovering bacteria is to "modern medicine" like the discovery of FIRE was to

modern man... EVERY significant tech discovery was but a RESULT of discovering
fire!

Washing hands is important because - we touch things and interact PRIMARILY with
our hands!

This is why when some doctors enter an AIDS patient's room, for example - who's
compromised immunity system will host MANY other diseases as well, THEY KEEP THEIR
HANDS IN THEIR POCKETS... so they won't touch ANYTHING inadvertently.
THE IMPORTANCE OF WASHING ONE'S HANDS!!!

Wow, it's truly sad, we find a very "slight" and feasibly testable theory on how to
"create" our own form of a "fountain of youth" or the "secret to immortality"
though yet all you people can do is argue about it's politics, population control,
and the limitation of yourselves/humanity?

Fine by all means keep limiting yourself and the people among you, while others
will find the "key" to "never aging"/"immortality" then use it for themselves
instead of releasing it to you or even letting you know about it.

Face it, if you don't ever want anything great for the people or yourselves that's
fine keep the people as dumb as possible they don't care because then you'll all
eventually be nothing other then brainless cattle for harvesting or manipulation,
"when needed."

Just like Kaiyl_kariashi said:

"That's the point though. Their development is retarded because of their gene
disorder. If they could find what's causing it, and develop a means to apply it to
people who have already reached physical maturity, they could freeze the aging
process, with none of the side effects, while avoiding the developmental diseases
of old age in process.

That's what they're going for."

Now that there's a possibility that this can be done, watch at how they will NOW
start hiding all the future results from you as to the fact that when they find how
to do this and actually make it possible for "certain people" to become
immortal/stop aging you will never see the light of day of such information nor
will you be given this special treatment.

Imagine who would get such a treatment and what that plays out for the future.

Meaning the more greedy people are the more the ones that can stay alive "forever"
will eventually snuff out the lives of those who cannot live for that long.

This research is a great thing, but it's also great to know as well.

Worst thing to ever happen is if the day they figure out it's possible to be done
and then from that point on they just either say: "Nope it's not possible" or they
just end up hiding any information related to this research forever while they will
continue to use it and research further on.

The track record for med tech is highly overrated!

We have changed NO basic feature of life and it's obvious we NEVER will!

The best med tech has done is to enable us to deal with the types of trauma and
disease peculiar to our way of life.

PHYSIOLOGY has taught us the importance of bacteria and functions of the human body

While med tech has certainly aided this process our MEDICAL therapy leaves much to
be desired imho - compared to how intensively it's hyped!

Drugs cause one problem after another, requiring ANOTHER drug to counteract.

Anti-biotics wind up creating stronger bacteria.

And quite frankly, many lives "saved" could be more easily and efficiently replaced
via human reproduction - and yes, letting the diseased human pass.

As for sum total life gained and bodies actually healed, considering the ENTIRETY
of modern civilization, med-tech only barely comes out ahead...

AND that's ONLY because of the HUGE population of 1st, 2d and 3rd world countries!!

Aging is a process in which tissue damage is not repaired completely. Prior to
sexual maturity, no aging of cells is apparent. Once a person reaches the age at
which most people have reproduced, they will begin to show signs of aging. In this
girl's case, even though she is not growing, by the time she reaches 40, she will
have signs of aging; wrinkles, impaired circulation, pre-cancerous cells, etc.

We can live on the moon and Mars we can live in other places outside of our planet

If we can figure out a way to slow our aging process significantly or permanently
then this is a wonderful time to be alive and not something to fear. We will just

So you alter the genes, then what happens when someone reproduces? The genes may
end up altered on the child as well, which could cause the fetus to not develop

this into our own hands.

The_Mick Theresa 4 years ago
No, Teresa, they're not talking about altering genes. Some genes have on and off
switches that kick-them into and out of action. The genes that make us grow and
mature are turned on when we're fetuses and then never turn off - so we keep
changing past maturity and age. Somehow, they've turned off for these people. If we
could find the trigger than turns off those genes, we'd simply stop aging -
theoretically. There would still be problems with increasing cancer as you get
older and some other problems, but theoretically your skin would stay young if you
took care of it, you wouldn't get arthritis, your eyes would stay sharp, etc.

most likely childhood vaccines did this. as its a cocktail of poison, contains
adjuvants which makes the body turn on itself...which leads to things like diabetes
as the body attacks the pancreas. Also causing allergys to various things. vaccines
contain mercury which stunts the brains, which likely is what triggered this childs
part of the brain which pumps out the chemicals that tell the body to grow. and of
course vaccines contain sv-40 (google it) which is cells from monkey kidneys added
in to create cancer, which is what leads to leukemia and other cancers. . vaccines
are all about keeping you sick so the medical industry can keep you coming back
wiping out your money. And also eugenics.....population control. So yeah this
"syndrome" (scapegoat term to take the blame off the deadly vaccines) is most
likely from the vaccines. So this family is likely spending a ton of $ on trying to
figure out what happened meanwhile big pharma is rubbing their hands together and
smiling all the way to their 3rd vacation home.

The number of childhood vaccinations received have gone up in recent years; cancer
rates have gone down in recent years. Whoever told you that vaccines are a net
cause cancer was a liar or a fool. Possibly both.

Vaccines lead to lower medical spending than contagious diseases do. Since Big
Pharma's profit margin comes from medical spending, whether you're buying polio
vaccine or an iron lung, it is in the pharmcorps' financial interests to preserve
reservoirs of contagious diseases and to preferentially market treatments *after*
you get sick rather than preventative measures. Whoever told you that Big Pharma
wants vaccines specifically to make you sick was a liar or a fool. Possibly both.
Vaccines significantly reduce deaths in early childhood and increase longevity. The
people trying to convince the gullible to avoid vaccinations to preserve their
childrens' lives are liars or fools. It's quite clever of them to claim vaccines
are a murderous eugenics plot, though - it enables them to get people who would
normally oppose a plan to cull African children to vigorously support it.

Sorry bubba a fact is a fact. you can listen to the lying doctors all you want and
hear happy tales of how it will fix you but if you want to know the real deal read
the ingredient list on any vaccine...they even print it right their on their
official webpages. It does contain mercury, given a fancy name of "thimerasol"
mercury is a fact known as one of the most toxic substances in the human
body...gasoline in the human body is safer. The medical kill industry even admits
its in there but says it poses no danger.

jeffery dahmer would say his butcher knives and crock pot poses no danger. Ted
bundy would say his rope in his car posed no danger. sorry but im not gonna listen
to scum that admit poison but then say its good for you. You want cancer buddy? get
a shot. you want shingles? go get a shingles vaccine it will give you
shingles....jeez people can be so stupid. you got depression? go get prescibed a
drug that on the label says it increases depression and makes you want to kill
yourself. But hey im the guy thats wrong. i should listen to the very people who do

How dangerous mercury (or any element) is varies depending on the compound it's in.
Sodium explodes on contact with liquid water. Chlorine gas can kill you in a few
breaths at concentrations less than 1%. Table salt is made of explosive sodium and
poisonous chlorine. If you put table salt in water, it dissolves harmlessly instead
of exploding. Flourine gas will set *water* on fire; flouride toothpaste slightly
strengthens your teeth.

Not all vaccines contain thimerasol - it was phased out as a result of anti-mercury
paranoia. In spite of the fact that usage was scaled back, no health benefits were
observed. Antivax paranoia has led to a large number of unvaccinated children in
developed countries; if your claim that vaccines were harmful were not a lie, then
we should be able to see for ourselves that unvaccinated children are healthier and
grow up to be healthier adults. We do not see that effect. Most studies show no
benefit from being unvaccinated; one showed slightly reduced mental ability among
unvaccinated children.

I have the shingles virus *permanently integrated into my body*. Why? Well, because
I caught it naturally, the way the antivax kooks think everyone should. If I want
shingles, all I need to do is be one of the unlucky group to have symptomatic
reactivation - no vaccine needed. I've had a fair number of shots - possibly not as
many as I should have, but enough. No cancer so far. And, again, if vaccines cause
cancer, why is cancer declining? Or are you simply going to insist that the
observable universe is a hoax because it doesn't match up to the tales you're told
by men making tens of thousands of dollars peddling conspiracy stories?

This is hype, back in 1990 I saw a case like this and it has nothing to do with
aging but everything to do with a genetic issue, the subject of the case study in

wrinkles, ect, his state of mind never changed from that shown of the girl in the

As a scientist it still amazes me how some of my fellow researchers can have such a
simplistic view of biology, or the world, in general. It is unlikely you can "turn
off" aging. Everything in the Universe, technically, ages until it dies--even
fundamental subatomic units of matter, such as the proton have a set lifespan.
Biological aging is not a driving force in and of itself, but rather a consequence
of more fundamental phenomenon--all of which are guided by the unidirectional arrow
of time.

Now, this is not to say we cannot "slow down" the aging process, but more
importantly, with the advancements in regenerative medicine, it is likely that
human beings in the future will replace organs, tissues, and even cells as needed,
becoming "virtually" immortal and not really needing to "slow down" any natural
process (cancer cells do this, but in an uncontrolled, disorganized way). Future
advancements, probably many centuries away, will likely bring about a completely
non-organic being which can "think" and "feel" without the need for any actual
physical parts.

I'm unsure of the article's credibility, but if there is any truth to this, it
would make sense that one of the reason we age might be due to the body's need to
mature. Man takes 18-21 years to mature. Biology has served its purpose and doesn't
engineer a stop sign, genetically speaking. So he ages and gets eaten by a lion.
But the thing is, we have long since gone past hunter gatherer needs and I for one
am stupefied at how people scoff at scientific interests like this and except
things the way they are just because.

I am no geneticist but if you recall the bioluminescent gene that's been making the
rounds in rabbits/monkeys and plants as of late. That gene serves a very simple
purpose. As far as I know, all it does is make whatever it's part of glow.
Scientists in this scenario may just be able to say ok body, stop ageing at 20. I
think there may be other age related factors that need fixing, but this is
definitely a step in the right direction.

I'm cool with another 1000 years for now. Lets revisit this on the 999th for a
stretch goal.

It seems to be fanciful thinking. But keep in mind the complexity of the human

bit far fetched.

neat. i've always believed that since we had "progeria", there had to be some

suppose it's like kirsten dunst's character in interview with a vampire - ageless
but frozen at immaturity but they could hold the key to inducing a halt to aging
later in life.

I am sure everyone knows that this is a disorder, a genetic disorder. As with most
genetic disorders, you have the obvious symptoms, and then there are the not so
obvious ones. So while she might age more slowly, I would love to see research done
on what other ailments she might be suffering.
To age gracefully, youngly and with good health. Lifestyle is the most important
factor. It is a must to change one's diet from the standard american one, to
something that entails a lot of raw vegetables, vegetable juices, fresh fruits, and
a moderate amount of protein. Exercise that entails a lot of walking is necessary.
Strength training is also necessary. It is also necessary to pray or meditate for
several minutes at a time, and several times a day. This is the secret to the
healthy, youthful, aware and intelligent golden years. I love God. I pray that He
loves me as well.

Check THE TWILIGHT ZONE episode called THE ESCAPE CLAUSE.
The protagonist was "granted" immortality by the devil (bwha ha ha ha!!!).

He was RECKLESS! Jumping down elevator shafts, getting run over by trains, shot,
stabbed etc.

He finally committed murder to sample The Electric Chair!

Surviving that he was given a life sentence, no parole!

He then called on the devil to exercise his ESCAPE CLAUS and was promptly given a
heart attack and granted the death he so desperately desired!

Yeah, I know you'd do it all different - but at least ONE point is that death CAN
be a welcome thing!

I'd gladly die to protect my child...

Not growing IS different from aging. Aging is caused when cells begin to die and
are not replaced. Every time a cell is damaged by free radicals and must divide to
continue, the TELEMERE in the cell becomes shorter. Once the TELOMERE for the cell
is used up... The cell dies. When the cell dies... you age. Stop the TELOMERE'S
from getting shorter... Stop your cells dying permanently... And you have just
achieved near immortality. My sources are my own scientific investigations in life
extension.

1. There's no proof of that - NONE! You just THINK that's the case.

2. "The quest for biological immortality has been ongoingsince the dawn of

NO PROOF again! No doubt it was at least many generations b4 people realized they
MUST die... And just WHEN did mankind originate - did apes go to sleep one night
and wake up human???
Now, WHEN did they realize they were undoubtedly die?

"Animals" don't realize this, only humans - I was taught in Anthropology...

3. Disease and death are GOOD things - people would NEVER change otherwise!
You would fight any battle with no thought of consequence - travel any journey,

Not all pursuits are worthy of the personal expense...

Wow! Do the doctors working on these cases really believe that the
people mentioned aren't aging?! Their external features and/or their
brain may not be developing the way normal development occurs for most
people. But, they ARE aging. It's just happening at a molecular level.
Over time, skin will lose elasticity, wrinkles and gray hair may show,
bones will become fragile, sickness will set in and visible signs of
aging will be quite evident. It's hard to believe that some
gerontologists are actually ignorant enough to believe that mutated
genes, which cause said abnormalities, are really signs of immortality.
