RENEWABLE RESOURCES:-

A renewable resource is a resource which can be used repeatedly because it is replaced

naturally.

For example:-

Natural - oxygen from trees, fresh water or recycled water, solar energy, timber,
and biomass.

commodities wood(ply wood), paper(notebooks ,newspapers,)

Wood, paper and leather are renewable resources because these sources are renewable

Types of renewable resources

o 1.1Solar energy

Solar power is the technology of obtaining usable energy from the light of the sun

Uses:
Solar energy is currently used in a number of applications:

Heat (hot water, building heat, solar cooking),Electricity generation

(photovoltaic and solar thermal, Stirling and other heat engines)
Desalination of seawater (taking the salt out so it can be used for drinking or growing
crops),Lighting

o 1.2Wind energy
Wind turbines can convert the energy in the wind into mechanical power that can be
used for a variety of activities like pumping water. Wind turbines can also use
generators to convert wind energy into electricity.

Uses:

Wind power wind turbines found on wind farms or can be on a smaller scale, such as
individual wind turbines people use to generate power for their home.

Using the wind to help pump water out of the ground. It is however a very helpful and
sometimes much needed tool when it comes to some communities and countries.
it is used in large scale wind farms for national electrical grids as well as in small
turbines for providing electricity to a farm house or off-grid locations.

o 1.3Hydropower

Hydropower is changing the energy of moving water into more useful forms.

Uses:

hydropower was used for irrigating crops and milling of grain into flour, and later
for textile manufacture (making cloth) and running sawmills to cut wood.

Hydroelectricity uses the energy of running water, without reducing its quantity, to
produce electricity.

Hydroelectric power plant reservoirs collect rainwater, which can then be used for
consumption or for irrigation. In storing water, they protect the water tables against
depletion and reduce our vulnerability to floods and droughts.

o 1.4Geothermal
Geothermal energy uses the heat from deep underground to make electricity.

Uses:

huge amount of energy can be generated

o 1.5Biomass
Biomass includes sawdust and other leftover parts of trees or lumber. It can also be
grease and food waste, straw, and plants grown for energy.

Uses:
It does not cause any pollution.

Residue of biomass can be used as fertilizer to field.

It helps in waste management

SOLAR ENERGY:

Solar panels and solar disc are used in campus to generate electricity

Its reduces the dependence on the government power supply

Continuous power supply to hostel and other requirements

Single time investment and save fund commercially.

WINDENERGY:

Wind energy is used in pumping of water in recycling unit(water)

Some portion of water is being pumped into tanks by using wind energy

It reduce the dependency on the electrical motors for pumping water

Easy to install and maintain

RECYCLING WATER:

Large amount of water from toilets and washbasin are recycled to use for
gardening which save gallons of water.

It is a best way to save underground water and at the same time it recharges
underground water level.
OXYGEN FROM TREES:

Large no of trees are grown along the side and as garden ,which refreshes
the environment gases, grasses were also grown in some places

They provide fresh oxygen and keep the environment cool

WASTE GENERATED IN MESS:

Large amount of food waste is generated everyday, which can be used in

generating biogas

The waste which is generated in these biogas plants can be used as manure
for plants

This biogas can be used for cooking food and heat boilers
