The Geostress Safe Mud Weight display has been improved to allow adjustment of Major and
Minor ticks in the graph.
When creating a gradient analysis on the track, you may now choose to use a rectangle or a
polygon to select the data points.
You may use Drillworks 3D to export one or more datasets from OpenWorks seismic brick
(.bri) files to use in analysis.
Drillworks 5000.8
This release of Drillworks 5000.8 is integrated with Landmark's DecisionSpace Desktop 5000.8
to provide users with a collaborative environment and access to a wider range of stored data and
tools.
Users with a Presswork license may search for stored Pressworks log curves and display along
side data from OpenWorks wells. Log curves may be visualized in Cube and Correlation views.
OpenWorks wells may be copied to Pressworks to use in Drillworks projects. The Pressworks Well
Data Manager allows users to view Pressworks stored data in tabular format from within the
Desktop. Drillworks now supports processing OpenWorks velocity modeling data in Drillworks
3D analysis and saving data back to OpenWorks for displaying in DecisionSpace Desktop. See the
help in Drillworks and DecisionSpace Desktop for details.
support for common well names. Users can control the format of the well name as it is
displayed in the Project Explorer.
duplicate well feature - wells may be copied in their entirety and assigned a suffix. This can be
useful for differentiating wells for pre-drill, realtime and postmortem use.
wells copied from OpenWorks or EDM data stores will honor the project's default units.
new copy/paste function for creating and editing lithology columns. Users may copy data from
text files or spreadsheets and paste directly into the lithology creating/editing wizard.
Drillworks 5000.0.3
Users are now notified when the SQL Express limit of 4 GB is reached for the Pressbase personal
relational database thus avoiding a potential loss of important data.
Previously when updating datasets via the ConnectML WITSML auto-load feature, survey stations
below the designated depth level were not preserved. This has been changed to keep the lower
survey stations as a projection per users requests.
Additionally, the measured and vertical depth values are handled more efficiently inside of UDMs
and UDPs.
Drillworks 5000.0.2
Windows 7 platform is now supported for the Drillworks suite of applications. Some issues
reported by customers and users have been fixed in this release.
Drillworks 5000.0.1
The Drillworks 5000.0.1 patch fixed several issues reported by users including the following:
Drillworks 5000
Drillworks users now have the ability to work collaboratively. A user may open a Predict project
and choose to share the project with other users. Only one instance of Predict has read/write access,
but other users may now open the shared project in Geostress, Presage and/or the LOT Analyzer
with full write privileges. This feature is dependent on license holdings.
New with Drillworks is the ability to define one individual dataset per datatype as definitive
for each wellbore. Previous definitive associations at the wellbore level are preserved in stored
projects.
Users may now select a region on a track-displayed pressure dataset and have the program fit
a curve to the point. This Gradient Analysis can be saved and edited.
Track properties have been enhanced to allow changes to apply to all user-locked tracks while
editing a current view or track. Additional track enhancements include a maximum of 15 tracks
in a view instead of the previous eight, plus the capacity to stretch the application window
across two monitors.
When importing wells from OpenWorks or EDM data stores, view templates can be
automatically created in the same manner as when importing a well from Pressbase or
Pressworks data stores.
Drillworks software has the ability to change the name of the WTSML curve as it is loaded into
Pressworks via the AutoLoad Configuration dialog in ConnectML.
Drillworks Explorer users may now evaluate duplicate wells found in different data stores and
choose which data to include in a temporary well. This constructed well, or derived well can
be easily edited and then included in a new or existing project.
Users have more flexibility in editing wells found in query results before adding the wells to a
project. You may delete multiple query result wells from the Data tab by a highlight and right-
Users may now perform queries by location using specific features in differing layers relative
to wells and stored pressure data.
With a Drillworks Explorer license, you may launch a query directly from the Predict track to
quickly determine spatial relationships between wells by viewing the results on the Map tab of
Drillworks Explorer.
Borehole breakouts are stress-induced horizontal enlargements of the wellbore while the well is
being drilled. The breakout is a very important indicator of wellbore instability and the
enlargement can be described by the breakout angle and breakout azimuth.
New with Drillworks software is the ability to import caliper logs to produce a caliper group
dataset as input to create an enlargement dataset. This enlargement dataset can be created by
the program to automatically identify breakout, washout and key seat zones. These zones can
be plotted on standard Predict tracks for the entire length of the borehole.
Another new feature is the Breakout Analysis which uses the caliper group dataset and/or the
enlargement dataset. The outputs are Breakout Angle and Breakout Azimuth datasets which
can also be plotted on standard Predict tracks. This analysis can be used to characterize the
extent and direction of the breakouts based on 4 or 6 arm caliper logs.
The displayed Breakout Azimuth and Breakout Angle datasets can be viewed in cross-section
at a user-specified depth. Additionally, these results can be used to compare with others
obtained from image logs to make a more accurate prediction of wellbore stability.
The new breakout angle dataset can also be used in the SFG calculations.
Geostress has now implemented correlations for limestone/dolomite in addition to shale and
sandstone for shear failure gradient correlations.
Additionally, users may specify these new correlations or use the constant values for each
formation in a lithology column for rock strength parameters used in calculating shear failure
stress gradients.
Users may now determine near wellbore principal and effective stress outputs that can be used
in UDMs and UDPs for wellbore stability analysis.
