PRAYER

WHEN VISITING A GRAVE Our Father, Who art in heaven

Hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy kingdom come,
All: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of Thy will be done,
the Holy Spirit. Amen. on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
Leader: Praise be to God our Father, who raised Jesus and forgive us our trespasses,
Christ from the dead. Blessed be God forever. as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
Response: Blessed be God forever. but deliver us from evil. Amen.

The following Scripture text may be read:

Leader:
We know that if our earthly dwelling, a tent, should be Lord God,
destroyed, we have a building from God, a dwelling not whose days are without end
made with hands, eternal to heaven. and whose mercies beyond counting,
[2 Corinthians 5:1] keep us mindful
that life is short and the hour of death unknown.
I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, Let your Spirit guide our days on earth
nor principalities, not present things, nor future things, in the ways of holiness and justice,
nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other that we may serve you
creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in union with the whole Church,
in Christ Jesus our Lord. sure in faith, strong in hope, perfected in love.
[Romans 8:38-39] And when our earthly journey is ended,
lead us rejoicing into your kingdom,
After a time of silence, all join in prayers of intercession. where you live for ever and ever.

PRAYER OF INTERCESSION R. Amen.
