In this subject we study the phylogenetic evolution of the brain and its
relationship with the cognitive processes that make possible human and
animal behavior and intelligence. We pay special attention to the higher
mental processes, such as awareness and self-awareness, the rational
and emotional control of behaviour, and social cognition.
Esta asignatura estudia la evolucin filogentica del cerebro y su relacin con los
procesos cognitivos que hacen posible la inteligencia y el comportamiento de
animales y humanos. Se centra especialmente en los procesos mentales superiores,
con particular incidencia en la consciencia y la autoconsciencia, el control racional y
emocional del comportamiento y la cognicin social.
