Single subject three-ringed binder (2-inch preferred)
Loose leaf paper or a spiral notebook
Pencils (required for all tests and quizzes)
A graphing calculator (TI-83/83+/84/84+ are recommended)
Note: A graphing calculator is required to be able to complete most classwork and homework
assignments. I understand they are a financial investment, but one that is worthwhile you will utilize it
in future Math classes. Families that are overly burdened by such a purchase will be allowed to check out
a calculator for the year while supplies last. See Mrs. Lassley for more information

Classroom Rules:
Rule #1 Be Respectful
Rule #2 Be on Time
Rule #3 Be Prepared

Attendance:
Excused absences If you have missed school due to an excused absence it is the students responsibility to
collect all work missed. Missed assignments must be made up within 2 days prior to the absence. It is the
students responsibility to set up a time to make up any missed quiz or test (before school, during lunch, or
after school). Students will have 1 week to make up any missed test or quiz.
Unexcused absences Any work missed due to an unexcused absence may not be made up.
Homework/Classwork: Homework will be given almost daily, and is worth 15% of your final grade in the
class. Almost all homework will be graded based on completion, with the exception being quiz and test
reviews which will be collected and graded on correctness. All homework will be checked the day after it was
assigned. Late homework will be accepted up to the day we test on the chapter, but points will be deducted.
Quiz reviews are due the day we take the quiz. There are NO exceptions to this rule and late quiz reviews will
NOT be accepted.
Participation: Participation is worth 10% of your final grade. Participation points will be granted based on
how engaged and productive students are in class. Disruptive behavior, tardiness, cellphone use, and other
inappropriate behavior will result in a loss of participation points.
Quizzes: Quizzes are worth 25% of your final grade. There will be between 2 and 4 quizzes per Unit. Some
quizzes will be individual quizzes, while others will be partner quizzes. There will be no retake quizzes.
Tests: Test are worth 50% of your final grade. There will be 1-2 tests per unit. Tests will always be completed
individually. There will be no retake tests.
Cell Phone Policy: Students are not allowed to have cell phones during instructional time in class. They are to
be surrendered to the teacher when that student enters the classroom and will be returned to the student when
the class has finished notes for the day. The first time a student is caught with a cellphone during instructional
time they will be given a warning and their cellphone will be returned to them at the end of class. The second
time a student is caught with a cellphone during instructional time, the cellphone will be given to an
administrator.

Hall Passes: Leaving the classroom is a privilege, not a right. If you are responsible when you leave the
classroom and return in a timely manner you will be allowed to leave the classroom as necessary, but if you
abuse your bathroom time, then you will not be permitted to leave class in the future and points will be
deducted from your participation grade for the day.

Remind: Remind is a free text messaging app that helps teachers, students, and parents communicate
quickly and efficiently. I will use Remind frequently to send out reminders for tests, quizzes, and any
other important information you may need. To join all you have to do is text your class code to 81010 or
visit remind.com and enter the class code along with your mobile phone number. I would highly suggest
signing up for it. Here are the class codes:

will be very helpful for students who are absent or for those students who may be not as organized as other
students. To login to Schoology, visit http://www.seattleschools.org/spslms and choose Log in as a
