GUIA PARA LA PRESENTACION DE PONENCIAS

Dear participants,

Please receive a warm welcome from the conference coordinators of the Transmedia Earth
Conference, Global Convergence Cultures.

We would like to thank you for your interest to participate to the first edition of this international
conference. We are sure that your future contribution will help to develop the academic and creative
field of transmedia studies around the world.

As an academic outcome of this conference, we would like to publish a book series to showcase the
work that we will do in our days in Medellin. In order to do this, and to facilitate the editorial work,
we would like you to present your paper for the conference following these guidelines:

1. Please send before 8 September your paper in .doc format as attachment to the conference
coordinators: Matthew Freeman (m.freeman@bathspa.ac.uk), Mauricio Vsquez (mvasqu23 @
Eafit.edu.co), Camilo Tamayo (ctamay12@eafit.edu.co) and William Proctor
(bproctor@bournemouth.ac.uk). The paper has to be presented in letter size, using Times New
Roman point font size 12, with a paragraph space of 1.5. The papers extension has to be between
4,000 to 6,000 words.

2. The structure of the paper should be as follows:

a. Title of the paper

b. Names and surnames of author(s), email, nationality, institutional affiliation and the higher
academic degree that the author(s) hold.
c. Abstract in Spanish and English (between 100 and 120 words).
d. Keywords
e. Introduction.
f. Background, History, Review of Literature or Methodology
g. Results
h. Argument, Critique or Discussion
i. Conclusion
j. References

3. Papers should be presented following grammatical and syntactical rules in order to help the future
proof reading and editorial work.

4. Quotations and reference have to follow the American Psychological Association (APA)
referencing system, sixth edition. The footnotes should be left exclusively for comments,
clarifications and other inserts that it is not considered appropriate to include in the body of the text.

5. In the case of including images in the text, the author must make sure that he has all the
permissions for his use and subsequent publication. The author must also deliver the images in a
separate file, in JPG format, in a size of minimum 15 cm and with a resolution of 300 points. The
images should also be included in the file in Word so that it serves as a guide to editors and
designers.

6. If tables and graphs are used, they must be delivered in separate files, in the design program in
which the files were created.

7. Provide permission to use the graphics, pictures, photos or images when it is necessary.

8. Sign the copyright assignment agreement that we will send you before the conference.

9. Once the book is designed, a PDF file will be delivered for your final approval. It will be no
longer possible to modify texts or tables, except in cases where it is absolutely necessary.

10. The participation in the conference implies to accept the terms and conditions of the intellectual
property policies of the EAFIT University that can be consulted in the following link:

11. The academic team does not guarantee that all papers presented at the conference will be
published. This will be a decision that the academic committee of the Conference will take
regarding the quality of the papers.

12. If you fail to send the paper on time we will not include your paper at the Conference
Programme.

Estimados ponentes,

Reciban un cordial saludo por parte del comit acadmico de la Conferencia Internacional
Transmedia, Culturas Globales de la Convergencia.

En principio queremos agradecer su participacin e inters por contribuir al desarrollo del campo
acadmico y creativo vinculado al mbito de la transmedialidad. Esperamos que este encuentro sea
provechoso para todos nosotros y para la comunidad acadmica interesada en el tema.

Como parte de los resultados de la conferencia se realizar una o varias publicaciones acadmicas.
Para este efecto, con el fin de facilitar el proceso de edicin, sealamos a continuacin las
indicaciones y requisitos para la presentacin de sus ponencias en el marco de la Conferencia:

1. Por favor antes del 8 de septiembre enviar, como archivo adjunto, el manuscrito de la
ponencias en formato .doc, a los correos de los coordinadores de la conferencia: Matthew
Freeman (m.freeman@bathspa.ac.uk), Mauricio Vsquez (mvasqu23@eafit.edu.co),
Camilo Tamayo (ctamay12@eafit.edu.co) y William Proctor
(bproctor@bournemouth.ac.uk).

Los manuscritos debern presentarse en formato carta, usando la fuente Times New Roman
a 12 puntos, con un interlineado de 1,5 puntos, los textos debern tener una extensin entre
4.000 a 6.000 palabras aproximadamente.

2. La estructura de la ponencia debe ser la siguiente:

a. Ttulo de la ponencia
b. Nombres y apellidos de los autores, correo electrnico, nacionalidad, filiacin
institucional, nombre de la institucin que representa y ttulos acadmicos.

c. Resumen en espaol e ingls (entre 100 y 120 palabras),

d. Palabras clave (Keywords) que sinteticen la ponencia.
e. Introduccin
f. Desarrollo (incluir en este apartado la metodologa si fuera el caso)
g. Conclusiones y/o discusin
h. Referencias bibliogrficas usando el sistema APA, versin 6.0

3. Las ponencias debern presentarse corregidas exhaustivamente por los autores, de manera
que no haya necesidad de introducir cambios considerables una vez el proceso de edicin
haya comenzado.

4. La citacin deber presentarse atendiendo estrictamente al formato y las indicaciones

establecidas por el sistema de referenciacin APA (American Psychological Association),
sexta edicin. Las notas al pie de pgina debern dejarse exclusivamente para comentarios,
aclaraciones y dems insertos que no se considere conveniente incluir en el cuerpo del
texto.

5. En caso de incluir imgenes en el texto, el autor deber cerciorarse de que cuenta con todos
los permisos para su uso y posterior publicacin, as mismo deber entregar las imgenes en
un archivo aparte, en formato JPG, en un tamao de mnimo 15 cm y con una resolucin de
300 puntos. Las imgenes deben incluirse tambin en el archivo en Word para que este
sirva de gua a editores y diseadores.

6. En caso de utilizar tablas y grficos, stas debern entregarse en archivos independientes,

en el programa en el que fueron creados.

7. Entregar los permisos de uso y las referencias que avalen el empleo de grficas, cuadros,
fotos o imgenes de la ponencia.

8. Diligenciar y firmar digitalmente el acuerdo de cesin de derechos de autor que se anexa en

esta comunicacin.

9. Una vez est diagramado el libro, se entregar un archivo en PDF para su aprobacin final,
en el cual ya no ser posible modificar textos o cuadros, excepto en casos en que sea
absolutamente necesario.

10. La participacin en la conferencia implica aceptar los trminos y condiciones de las

polticas de propiedad intelectual de la Universidad EAFIT que pueden consultarse en el

11. El equipo acadmico no garantiza que toda ponencia presentada vaya a ser publicada, esto
dado que las mismas sern sometidas a la evaluacin del comit acadmico de la
Conferencia. As mismo, se reserva el derecho de incluir las ponencias en otros materiales
editoriales y acadmicos que puedan surgir de la misma.

12. El no envo oportuno o incumplimiento de estas indicaciones supondr la no inclusin en la

agenda de la Conferencia.
