How Does it Work?
Condensate is brought into the system from the inlet
separator and preheated in the stabilizer feed/bottoms
exchanger before entering the top of the contactor tower.
The contactor tower can be either a tray or packed column.
Condensate Stabilizer
Within the contactor, the liquid is heated by the hot
vapors rising from the reboiler as it flows downward across
the trays or packing. The stabilized liquid is collected in
the bottom of the contactor and exits through the feed/
bottoms exchanger to pipelines or storage facilities. The
vapor exits the top of the contactor to either a downstream
flare, vapor residue pipeline or through the optional air
cooler and NGL recovery skid for discharge directly to a
pressurized storage vessel.
