2. In pairs, complete a short paragraph with guidance with correct
tenses, spelling and sentence patterns.
3. Individually, write a short paragraph of at least 3 lines on holiday
experiences based on their own graphic organizers with correct
tenses, spelling and sentence patterns.

Set Induction 1. Teacher displays a video on farm animals. Video (Appendix A)


(5 minutes) 2. Teacher asks wh questions regarding the
video.
- What are the animals that can be found in the
video?
- Which category do you think these animals
belong to?

Presentation 1. Based on the video/ power point slides, teacher Video / power point
(15 minutes) discusses the physical characteristic of the slides (Appendix A / B)
animals.
2. Teacher divides the pupils into groups.
3. Each group has to write the physical
characteristics of each animal on the mahjong Mahjong paper
paper given to them with the use of i-think map. (Appendix C)
4. Teacher discusses the answers with pupils.
5. Teacher provides model of sentences to
describe the animals.
- A cow has four legs.
- A cow has a short tail.
Practice 1. Teacher displays boxes of pictures of which Pictures inside the
(15 minutes) contains different body parts of animals. boxes (Appendix D)
2. Teacher asks each group to send one
representative to take a body part from the
first box.
3. The second step is repeated till all the body
parts are distributed.
4. The pupils are required to paste body parts Mahjong paper
together on the mahjong paper provided and (Appendix E)
form a new species.
5. They have to name the newly formed species
and write down the physical characteristics of
the new species. (refer to appendix E)
6. They are also required to write the name and
characteristics of the new species using
sentences and the reason why the species is
special.
- This animal is called a cowgoken. (a mixture
of a cow, goat and chicken)
- This animal has cows head, goats horn and
body and chickens legs.
- This animal can protect itself because it has
horns.
7. The groups paste their mahjong paper
around the class to be displayed to and
edited by the teacher.

Production 1. Teacher provides each student with a sample Sample of letter


(15 minutes) of letter addressed to scientist. (Appendix F)
2. Teacher explains the format and purpose of the
letter to the pupils.
3. Teacher asks the pupils to write a letter to a
foreign scientist informing about the new
species of animal.
Closure 1. Jazz chant
