S INOHYDRO is a global company and a leader in

the water conservation and hydropower industries.
With strong roots in the local market in China, through its
network of subsidiaries, the Company also plays a leading
role in the world market for major construction projects
specializing in civil engineering, building and dredging.

In addition to construction, SINOHYDRO has been actively

investing in and financing energy projects and transport
infrastructure on a BOT and PPP basis, as well as expanding
its investments in wind power, real estate and water supply.

SINOHYDRO combines the strength of a large state-

owned corporation,employing 130,000 people and strong

S INOHYDRO was founded in 1954, under the

name, China National Water Resources and
Hydropower Engineering Corporation (CWHEC).
From that year onwards, the Company has been the
backbone in China's efforts to harness and utilize
its rivers with developmental ventures which now
account for more than 70% of the water conservation
and hydropower projects in the country with a
current total installation of 90,000 MW.

In the 1980s, SINOHYDRO grew from a hydropower

construction enterprise to a large, diversified,
corporation whose business covers transport
infrastructure (motorways, expressways, bridges,
tunnels, and railways), harbors, airports, municipal
public utilities, industrial plants and factories, as well
as mining and dredging. Liujiaxia power station built in the 60s is the first hydropower plant in China with
installed capacity of more than 1000MW
From 2000, SINOHYDRO has been actively
advancing its international strategies and has
expanded its business to fifty countries throughout
Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas. In July 2003,
the SINOHYDRO Corporation was established,
expanding SINOHYDROs investment portfolio from
hydro-power and coal-power projects to wind-power,
real estate, transport infrastructure and mining under
long-term concessions contracts, including build-
operate-transfer (BOT) or public-private partnerships
(PPP).

Today, SINOHYDRO is a diversified industrial

group with a strong corporate culture and an efficient
business structure and operation which have been
expanded to become an effective transnational
enterprise group whose goal is to have more
innovation, sustainable development capabilities, and
global competitiveness.
