Narendra Modi Government is doing to INDIAN RAILWAYS, what UPA Government
under Sonia Gandhi did to Air India and Indian Airlines.

Indian Railways is reeling under operational losses of Rs 33,000 crore (January 6, 2017).
At present railways spends nearly Rs 77,000 crore on passenger operations while it
receives only Rs 44,000 crore from passenger fares. Thus it incurs a loss of Rs 33,000
crore annually. Indian Railways suffered Rs 24,600 crore loss in 2012-13 and propped by
Deficit Financing at tax payers expense.
Narendra Modi Government is looking towards PRIVATIZING Indian Railways, through
foreign investment ( FDI ). Officials said multiple activities of Indian Railways have been
opened for foreign investment.
Instead of someone like E.Sreedharan ( Metro Man ), Modi Government has appointed
some one like Suresh Prabhu as Union Railways Minister.
Indian Railways is building TWO dedicated freight corridors (DFCs) that are being
constructed - one running from Delhi to Mumbai and the other connecting Ludhiana to
Dankuni in West Bengal. This would make it easier for foreign companies to exploit
Resources in India, while farmers would lose their precious farm lands.
You can consider Narendra Modi Government as an extension of UPA Government of
Sonia Gandhi. Work on the two corridors, which began under the UPA government in
2008, had been slow. Things began to change when Prabhu became minister in November
2014 after the new NDA government took charge. Today, 95 per cent of the land is
acquired, and projects worth Rs 48,000 crore allocated. The first stretch of the Eastern
DFC connecting Khurja (near Aligarh) to Bhopur (near Kanpur) is expected to be
commissioned in December 2017. And both the DFCs are likely be commissioned in full
by end-2019. We Indians must know if this Rs 48,000 Crore is another LOAN from World
Bank..?
Indians need to be wary if there is a hidden motive to privatize Indian Railways, first by
making it an loss making organization and then pushing it into debt trap ( un-repayable
debt ), like it was done to Air India and Indian Airlines. Narendra Modi Government does
not work for common man but for foreign investors and foreign companies to help them
loot India. Had it been so, there would be no talk of introducing Bullet Trains, when Indian
Railways is running under losses. Now vast majority of infrastructure in India is owned by
foreign companies, which wasnt the case before UPA Government came to power.
Indian Railways, the fifth biggest rail network in the world and it connects the entire
country through 68,525 km of route track (in 2014), 12,961 passenger trains, and 8,637
freight trains. It also runs 125 hospitals, 586 polyclinics, 102 schools and sundry other
initiatives. Also Indian Railways still count on huge passenger traffic where both road and
airlines are unviable for multiple reasons. It also owns thousands of acres of land. The talk
of foreign investment in Indian Railways shows that there is hidden motive to privatize

Suresh Prabhu as Union Railways Minister has claimed that spending Rs 8.56 Lakh Crore
will fix all problems by 2019, assuming he remains the Railways Minister. Where will Rs
8.56 Lakh Crore come from..? LOANS..?
There is talk of making Indian Railways financially self sufficient, Indians need to be wary
of a hidden motive to privatizing Indian Railways. There is a talk that Indian Railways
needs to generate enough funds on its own for capital expenditure and also find new, non-
government sources of funding. There is no talk about continued neglect of basic
infrastructure. Only introducing new lines, new trains and new corridors ( through foreign
investment ).

There is no talk about reducing its bloated bureaucracy that lives off the Indian Railways.
This bloated bureaucracy draws Huge salaries along with generous pension given after
retirement to the employees, which has added to the financial woes of Indian Railways..
After implementation of 7th pay commission, the salary/pension expensed of IR now
stands at a dangerously and untenably high level of 68% of total revenue generated by
Indian Railways..!!

7th Pay Commission recommendations has called for another Rs 28,000 Crores for retirees
and serving employees. Narendra Modi Government is increasing salaries of Government
employees without corresponding increase in any work output.

There is also a talk of redevelopment of 412 stations, with the help of private players.
What does Railway Ministry mean by redevelopment of Railway stations. Are they the
real reason why Railways is running under losses. Railways is talking about leasing
Railway stations to private players for 55 to 99 years and it is working out the modalities.
Union Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu claimed that he is reworking the entire plan to
make it more lucrative for investors. Why should private players manage Railways
Station..? What extra - efficiency they will bring..?

Indian people must know how a newly created model of private public partnership ( PPP )
for investment in Infrastructure projects was used by previous UPA Government to SCAM
out Rs 32,00,000 Crores, which then disappeared into foreign banks. UPA Government
claimed that there was no money for infrastructure projects, and the money would have to
come from private investors, so a new model of private public partnership ( PPP ) was
created in the name of financing infrastructure projects ( Roads , Dams , Bridges..etc ).
Finally PSU Banks loaned money to private companies to finance infrastructure projects
commissioned by the government. The private companies never repaid PSU Banks and the
money disappeared into foreign banks. An estimated Rs 32,00,000 Crores disappeared
from PSU banks. When Narendra Modi Government came to power, RBI Governor
Raghuram Rajan, tried to put pressure on PSU Banks to recover this Rs 32,00,000 Crores,
but he was soon eased out by Narendra Modi Government. Indians must remember Loans
for Bribes scam, which happened when UPA Government was in power.
Indians must boot out Narendra Modi Government ASAP, BJP must lose 2019 General
Elections.
Union Railways Ministry under Narendra Modi Government plans to electrify another
35,000 km in the next seven years. They have decided to use the expertise of power
ministry's PSUs EESL and Power Grid Corp to execute electrification. The excuse for
electrification is that it will cut diesel consumption. Union Railways Ministry under
Narendra Modi Government has claimed that Railways is running under losses because its
locomotives consume diesel worth Rs 16,000 crore. Then there is a talk of pushing
renewable energy by adding 1,000 MW by 2020, which includes turning several Railway
stations completely on solar..

Here is the ..Bull Shit.. Talk about making Indian Railways financially Self Sufficient
1. Rope in Private players - Another redux of private public partnership ( PPP )
2. Create a holding company for Indian Railways, and bring all its PSUs as
subsidiaries. This holding company can take financial leverage and access bond or
debt markets, and may also help in improving execution.
3. Plan to form JVs with states.
4. JVs with private companies to also take up projects of station redevelopment,
construction of new lines, formulation of new suburban railway networks, etc. The
JVs will be allowed to form project-specific SPVs with equity holding from other
stakeholders such as banks, ports, PSUs, mining companies and others.

Number one question, why dont you CUT DOWN current operational losses..? Why dont
you improve basic infrastructure..? Why Talk about building new lines, introducing new
locomotives, new coaches, new Bullet Trains, New New Freight corridors, Super Luxery
trains, formulation of new suburban railway networks..? Why should private investors be
brought in the name of maintaining efficiency and performance standards..?

Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu is talking about including private investors as
stakeholders ( better word shareholders ) in the name of reform. It exposes obvious hidden
motive to privatize Indian Railways. Why should Indian Railways be profitable business
for private investors..?

Indian Railways suffers from frequent railway accidents because there is no maintenance
or improvement of basic infrastructure. Narendra Modi Government conveniently blamed
Pakistans ISI and Maoists for railway accidents, rather than continued neglect of basic
infrastructure. What is fear worse is that Narendra Modi Government is pushing India into
a Debt trap by taking huge Trillion Dollar loans from World Bank, when there is no money
in the banks to repay.

Talking about Railways planning JVs with states, a BJP chief minister questions this.
..Most state governments don't have enough funds to finance their own schemes; how do
you expect projects of Railways to get fund from state budgets?..

Steps towards privatizing Indian Railways


Indian Railways has signed an agreement with US major GE and French firm Alstom to
set up two separate locomotive manufacturing facilities at Marhowra and Madhepura
districts of the state, respectively. The claim is being made that projects will allow
Railways to upgrade several of the existing 10,773 locomotives, and also allow some old
and inefficient ones to retire. GE has committed to manufacture 1,000 four-stroke diesel
locomotives, whereas Alstom will manufacture 800 electric locomotives, in 10 years from
setting up of the factories. The international majors were pushing for assured offtake. In
negotiations, Prabhu made them agree to Railways' demand of committing to maintenance,
and making the pricing formula work.

All Oil & Gas producing companies in India are now private companies, but until 2003
were government owned - ONGC, Indian Oil and GAIL. These companies were quietly
marginalized by UPA and BJP led NDA Government in collusion.
Indians must oppose FDI in all its Forms, FDI = Selling India into a whore house.
India or Indian Railways doesnt need foreign companies to manufacture locomotives in
India. Indian Railways manufactures its own locomotives at Diesel Locomotive Works
(DLW) Varanasi. Powerful Railways unions have opposed FDI in Railways, claiming that
this will only lead to more exploitation in the name of more profits.

Indian Railways under Prime Minister Narendra Modi will allow import of train sets, even
when Indian Railways manufactures its own coaches in India. The initial requirement is of
17 train sets (316 coaches), which can run on semi-high speed, out of which five can be
brought in complete knockdown condition and assembled here. The five bidders who
qualified for the project are Alstom-BEML, CAF-Bombardier, Hitachi-Ansaldo, Siemens
and Kawasaki-Toshiba-BHEL.

By 2019, Indian Railways is expected to have debt of Rs 2.5 lakh crore on its books.
According to former railway minister : ..The Railways does not appear to have the means
and the capacity to service the debt..

Indians should question, Why should Indian Railways purchase locomotives from US
major GE and French firm Alstom, when it manufactures its own locomotives in Diesel
Locomotive Works (DLW) Varanasi. Why should train sets be imported when Indian
Railways manufactures its own coaches in India..?
The ulterior reason is KICKBACKS.
The ..BULL SHIT.. excuse Narendra Modi Government will give you is that they are
modernizing Indian Railways. Buy Locomotives from foreign companies and importing
train sets from abroad would sink Indian Railways further.
Imagine yourself, you are running a business, your manager regularly orders food for
employees from local restaurants, even when you have a kitchen in your own office with
cooks. He gives you a ..BULL SHIT.. excuse that food in the restaurant is TASTIER
than what is cooked by cooks in kitchen. We need to realize is that if you cook your own
food in your own kitchen, it is cheaper than brought from the restaurant. You should
suspect that your manager is getting KICKBACKS.
This is exactly what Narendra Modi Government is doing, pushing Indian Railways into
DEBT, sinking it further and one day the entire mammoth organization would be owned
by a foreign company, like now all infrastructure is owned by foreign companies.
Problem is Indian people are sleeping, while their country is being enslaved.
