COMPLAINT

BEFORE ME, THE UNDERSIGNED AUTHORITY PERSONALLY APPEARED THE

AFFIANT HEREIN, A PEACE OFFICER UNDER THE LAWS OF TEXAS, WHO,
BEING DULY SWORN, ON OATH MADE THE FOLLOWING STATEMENTS AND
ACCUSATIONS:

My name is Sandra Rankin and I am commissioned as a peace officer by the City of Forney
Police Department. I hereby state upon my oath that I have reason to believe and do believe that
heretofore, and before the making and filing of this complaint, that

TALECIA RASHAD SWEAT, B/F DOB 09061988, TX ID# 25610154

on or about the 23rd day of August 2017, did then and there while in the course of committing
theft of property and with the intent to maintain to obtain control of the property, intentionally
and knowingly threaten or placed Roberto S. Garcia in fear of imminent bodily injury or death,
and the defendant did then and there use or exhibit a deadly weapon, to wit: a handgun.

My probable cause for said belief and accusation is as follows:

Per offense report number 201713530 and interviews conducted by your Affiant, your Affiant
learned that on 8/23/17, Roberto S. Garcia was awoken by a knock on his front door located at
1417 Vista Ridge, Forney Texas. When he opened the door, two black males forced their way into
the residence. One black male held the victim at gunpoint while a second black male searched the
residence for the victims grandson, Joseph Carrillo, who was asleep in his bedroom at the time.

During interviews with Carrillo, your Affiant learned Carrillo and his friend Malik K.Gary
traveled to Dallas Texas in the early morning hours of 8/23/17 to get tattooed by the defendant.
According to Gary during his interviews, he and Carrillo made the decision to rob the defendant
by taking her money that was lying on the counter in the room while they were getting tattooed.
Carrillo and Gary then ran from the defendant and returned to their respective homes in Forney
Texas. Gary stated to your Affiant he received a call from a third party after returning home who
stated to him that the defendant and her brothers were coming to Forney and were going to kill
both Carrillo and Gary. A short time later, the Forney Police Department received a 911 call from
Gary requesting they respond to Carrillos address. As the investigation unfolded, your Affiant
learned the Dallas robbery led to the Forney home invasion robbery.

The defendant stated to your Affiant during her interview she became mad when Carrillo and
Gary robbed her and that she called her brothers whom she identified only as DJ and Ton
to come to Forney with her to retaliate against Carrillo.
Therefore, I do believe that probable cause does exist that TALECIA RASHAD SWEAT did
commit the offence of AGGRAVATED ROBBERY T.P.C 29.03 (a)(2)) to wit: by participating in
the home invasion robbery of Roberto S. Garcia.
