DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES

Well protected under the strong roof of LMCST, the Department of Management
Studies took shape in the year 2005, with a mission of creating management
professionals of international competence.

The two year full time MBA programme conducted here is affiliated to the University of
Kerala. The total number of seats available is 60. To cater the need of industry, MBA
with dual specialisation in the functional areas of Human Resources Management
(HRM), Financial Management (FM), Marketing Management (MM), Operations
Management (OM) and Systems Management (SM) are offered.

The MBA aspirants among the students fraternity seek institutes which would train and
develop them as excellent and effective managers. The industry in turn desires that the
business schools should deliver professionals who are capable of shouldering the real
responsibility from day one of their placement.

In order to fulfil the above demands, management students are to be nurtured in such a
way that the theoretical knowledge acquired by them in different functional areas of
management, are to be integrated with communication and presentation skills. To
achieve this, the Dept. of Management Studies at LMCST, focuses on action learning
engineered by a team of eminent faculty with excellent academic background, rich
industrial experience and proven research talents. The main objective of the pedagogy
adopted is to instil a sense of self confidence, commitment & responsibility and to
impart soft skills and managerial values in students to equip them with capability to
excel in their career. Apart from the regular curriculum, the MBA students at LMCST
enjoy a comprehensive learning experience through the integrated co-curricular
activities such as Case Study Analysis, Research Paper Presentation, Journals Review,
News Review, Business Quiz etc.

The commitment of LMCST in achieving continuous improvement in the quality of

education, has resulted in bagging a series of university ranks.
