Justice 4 Essence Owens

Essence Owens is another Angel thats gone too soon. Family, friends, and concerned citizens are
taking active roles in ensuring her justice: Her body was found near a Groveland, Fl. home. Essence
was from Orlando and had been reported missing by family. The body was discovered by a real estate
agent while walking and showing the property. It was stated in earlier news that they came upon the
remains about 30 to 40 ft behind the trailer on the property. Additionally, it (body) was in a grave back in
the woods.

Now, officials have been quick to say and relieve the property owner of anything. The owner of said
property currently lives in North Florida according to police. This particular property where Essence was
found is secluded so someone would have to know the area well. Reports say that its about a quarter of a
mile off of Douglas Road. So it sounds like to even know where and how to navigate on this property
SOMEONE would have to be extremely familiar with the location and layout. Definitely raises questions.

Hearing and seeing with my own eyes the family members cry and grieve frantically for this young lady
was enough to move me to want join in on offering any type of help possible. The other thing that caught
my attention was where she was found dead: Groveland, Fl. Family members alike stated more than
once that she would never be that far away from themever.

Groveland, Florida-Lake County, Fl. has its record of racial violence toward blacks historically.
Remember the Groveland four? On July 16, 1949 a white woman, accused four black men of
rape, testifying that she and her husband were attacked when their car stalled on a rural
road near Groveland. I encourage those of you who dont know this story to research it. In short an
angry Klan mob hunted these young men and shot two, killing one, falsely accusing repeatedly all four of
them.( The trial attracted international coverage; newspapers in the Soviet Union pointed to the trial as
evidence that American blacks were not free.)

So, if you are still reading this you may be wondering what or why is this important? Well, the name of
the white woman who accused the young men of rape, etc. her name was: Norma Padgett of
Groveland, Fl. The media has left out information of course that is pertinent. The property where
Essence was found is allegedly owned by the Padgetts. Secondly, several witnesses in this case
have reported that Essence had been in the presence and last seen with the son of the landowner. His
name: Randall Padgett II. I find this information worth looking into and definitely as family, friends,
citizens, activistall who make up a village, need not be silent. Lake County officials need to be held
accountable and ensure the family that justice will be served.

The Klan, corrupt Law Enforcement, and officials have been killing black men and
WOMEN for years. They still are. Two former Florida prison guards who were members
of the KLAN were convicted of plotting to kill a black inmate after his release. We cant
sleep on this. Lake County, nor OPD cant be trusted to investigate this case without bias. Media and Law
enforcement already have tried to demean the deceased by presenting possible criminal history.
Historically, whites have always tried to exonerate themselves for killing black people based on their own
racism. They will use several tactics, such as bringing up irrelevant issues to discredit and justify actions
against her. We will not allow that!
Essences young life was ended. She is a daughter, sister, cousin, niece, friend, and a Mother. Racial
violence will not be tolerated and Lake County should not be allowed to discredit and drag
their feet on this case. We, the people, demand Justice 4 Essence.
