For EPC for new or MTU remanufactured or MTU overhauled engines as well as for
EPC Extensions this EPC Inspection is not required.

EPC for Used MTU Equipment:

a) Within 5 years after original delivery date of MTU Equipment to first end user :
This EPC Inspection incl. Attachment 1 is required (costs be claimed back to MTU)

b) Beyond 5 years after original delivery date of MTU Equipment to first end user :
This EPC Inspection incl. Attachment 1 is required; plus an
additional bore scope inspection as per Attachment 2(all costs at customers expense)

Please note that the existing PID or Installation Description as well as the Sea Trial Data
Sheets (RMS file) must be reviewed and compared to the existing state of the MTU
Equipment. Please attach all such existing documents hereto. Only deviations and changes
on the yacht or propulsion plant must be listed in this Extended Propulsion Coverage
Inspection. Mandatory the data as specified in the EPC Inspection - Sea Trial Data Sheet-
Series XX00 Engines must be provided as an ECU download already converted to an
Excel file. Please use the existing Sea Trial Data Sheet only in an exceptional case where
an ECU download is not possible.

Attachment 2 Bore Scope Inspection


Additional Inspection only needed for EPC for Used MTU Equipment where the Equipment
age is beyond 5 years after original delivery date of MTU Equipment to first end user

For all cylinders a bore scope inspection has to be performed.


Please apply bore scope inspection guideline ( TKA-Nr.: 338-09 ) provided on the Business Portal.
For any described abnormalities, an EPC approval can only be granted if the concerned cylinder unit
(liner and piston) has been exchanged.
