 A. BACKGROUND
The sciences of mechanical engineering, manufacture, and energy have been
instrumental in advancing the human race since ancient times. Without these sciences, great
human civilizations would have never come to be. Development in these fields continues at
an ever increasing pace and the advancement of each one of these fields is very closely
related to and dependent on one another. Without advances in material science and the
discovery of energy harnessing technologies, the technology of fabrication could not
proceed to manufacture engineering marvels today from the largest TI class supertankers to
the smallest MEMS micropumps. Likewise, without development of high-temperature
resistant and high strength alloys along with the capability to properly shape and form these
materials, operation of powerplants such as supercritical water boilers and high pressure gas
turbines would be impossible.
The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering of Gadjah Mada University
in collaboration with AUN/SEED-Net and JICA proudly present the 8th AUN/SEED-Net
Regional Conference on Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering (The 8th RCMME) and
the 3rd AUN/SEED-Net Regional Conference of Energy Engineering (The 3rd RCEnE). The
8th RCMME and the 3rd RCEnE provide a global platform to bring together researchers,
scientists, academics, policy makers and professionals to exchange information and identify
research needs in the areas of energy, manufacture and mechanical engineering.
The role of energy, manufacture, and mechanical engineering continues to be key in
development of new technologies from fuel cells, micro-power generation, graphene low
cost touchscreens, etc. Often, there is an necessity for multi-disciplinary interaction. As
topics will cover a wide range of fields including (but are not limited to) thermofluids,
renewable energy, advanced materials, advanced processes and mechanical systems, The
8th RCMME and the 3rd RCEnE also provide a unique forum for interdisciplinary
researchers from different countries and communities to exchange ideas and devise novel
solutions and concepts.

C. PURPOSE OF CONFERENCES
The 8th RCMME and The 3rd RCEnE are expected to become a media of
communication, exchange of ideas, cutting-edge research and a forum of cooperation
and partnership between researchers and industries in the field of manufacturing
and energy worldwide, South East Asia and East Asia in particular.

G. EVENT CONCEPT
1. The 8th RCMME
This event is a two-day seminar with six keynote speakers. With 2 keynote speakers
for the topic of manufacturing, 3 keynote speakers for the topic of mechanical, 1 keynote
speakers for the topic of material, and 1 keynote speaker from the industry. The first day
will be presented by Prof. Shinnosuke Obi of Keio University, Prof. Nobumasa Sekishita of
Toyohashi University of Technology, Nobuki Hasegawa (Senior Fellow in Komatsu Ltd.
Japan) in confirmation, and Prof Noer Ilman of Universitas Gadjah Mada. The second day
will be presented by Prof. Yoshio Yamamoto of Tokai University, Prof. Norihisa Miki of
Keio University and Prof. Hideki Aoyama of Keio University. After keynote speakers, the
presentation of each participant will follow.
To attract participants outside of the AUN/SEED-Net members, we are working
hand in hand with International Conference on Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering
(ICMME) and The 8th National Seminar Materials and Metallurgy (SENAMM VIII).
SENAMM VIII will only be held on the first day. By working together with these two events,
we hope that it will increase the number of participants who are interested in presenting
their research within this theme field of study.

2. The 3rd RCEnE

This event is a two-day seminar with six keynote speakers. With all of the keynote
speakers for the topic of energy. The keynote speakers will be Prof. Samsul Kamal of
Universitas Gadjah Mada, Prof. Keiichi Ishihara of Kyoto University, Prof. Hideaki Ohgaki
of Kyoto University, Prof Jun Tanimoto of Kyushu University, Prof. Yasuyuki Takata of
Kyushu University, Prof. Tetsushi Biwa of Tohoku University. After keynote speakers, the
presentation of each participant will follow.
 To attract more participants outside of AUN/SEED-Net members, we are working
together with International Conference of Thermofluid VII. With this partnership, we hope
more will be interested in participating in this event. Thus, more researches will be
presented related to this theme and study field.

The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering of Universitas Gadjah
Mada in collaboration with AUN/SEED-Net present an international conference which
consists of the 8th RCMME (in conjunction with ICMME and SENAMM) and the 3rd RCEnE

time, Seminar Nasional Metalurgi dan Material for the 8 th time, and International

SPONSORSHIP PROVISIONS
I. General Provisions
1. The sponsor interested in this sponsorship is obliged to sign a letter of
collaboration.
2. The collaboration agreement will be done between the committee and the
sponsor related.
3. The sponsor will be able to make a deal with the committee regarding other
forms of collaboration that have not been stated in this proposal.
4. The sponsor will be able to give suggestions regarding the layout of the
promotion media, nevertheless the final decisions are in the hands of the
committee.
5. Every sponsor is obliged to pay an advanced payment of 75% when signing the
collaboration agreement.
6. Willingness to become a sponsor will be accepted until June 15, 2015.
7. If there is a Single Sponsor willing to support this event, then other sponsors
(main and side sponsors) will be cancelled and the advanced payment already
paid will be fully refunded by the committee.
8. All payments must be completed by June 21, 2015.

11. The collaboration agreement can be made between an authorized party of the
sponsor and the proposal carrier from the committee.
12. Administrations can be completed at the committees secreatriat or at the
sponsors location.
13. Other provisions that have not been arranged will be made based on the deal
between the committee and sponsor. After a deal is made between these two
parties, a collaboration agreement will be formed by the committee that will be
signed on seal by both parties later on.

II. Conditions of Agreement Cancellation

1. For the cancellation by the sponsor, the following provisions shall apply:
a) If the cancelation is made prior to June 21, 2015, the advanced payment
already paid shall remain the property of the committee and will not be
refunded. If a full payment has been completed, then 30% of the agreed
fee will be refunded.
b) If the cancelation is made after June 21, 2015, then the entire fee already
paid will become the property of the committee.
2. If for any reason the committee cancels the participation of a sponsor, then
the entire fee that has already been paid shall be fully refunded to the
sponsor.
III. Other Provisions
1. Special agreements can be made between the committee and a representative
of the sponsor.
2. Provisions for special agreements will be made based on the agreement
between both parties. If the sponsor desires, a special agreement can be made.
3. The committee is not responsible for errors in installation if the sponsor does
not meet the requirements agreed.
