Pumpaction
ThepumpactionshotgunusesaslidingforegriptoloadtheshellsTheweaponcanbeaccidentally'shortshucked'bynot
fullydrawingthepumpbackbeforeyouletitreturnforward.Thisonlyhalfloadstheroundandjamstheshotgun
Workingthepumpagainmayclearit,oritmayneedtoberemovedbyhand(takestime)
 NOTE:Oldstyleshotgunsusethepumpbeingslidbacktoejecttheshellloadedandpullanewonefromthemagazine,and
thereturnmotionofthepumpgoingforwardtoloadthenewshell.Somenewershotgunsuseadifferentsystemtokeepthe
shotguncompact.Thepumpisslidforward,outfromunderthebarreltoopenthechamberandejecttheoldshell,andisslid
backundertheguntoloadthenewround.

Gasautomatic
Theforceoftheshellbeingfiredisusedtoejectthecasingandtochamberthenextround.Thefirstroundhastobe
chamberedmanuallybycockingtheweapon,andthegunfiresatonerateoffireonly.
ADudroundwillstoptheweaponfiringandwillhavetobeclearedmanuallybyworkingthebreachopenandclosed.Most
gasAutoshotgunarealsopumpaction,sothatDudscanbeclearedbyworkingthepump.

Motorised
Themotoractionusesanelectricalmotortoworkthegunsaction,loading,firingandejectingtheroundsatasetratethat
canbevariedsimplybyalteringthemotorspeed.
Dudroundsareejectedbytheactionwithoutaninterruptioninfiring

Revolver
Onlyafewcurrentshotgunsusearevolversystem.Theweaponiswiderthananormalshotgun,butcanbeshorterand
morecompact
Thesimplermodelisspringloaded,rotatingthecylinderonestepaftereachtriggerpull
Themorecomplexaregasoperated,usingthegasfromthefiringoftheshelltorotatethecylinder

Anoteoncases
Militaryloadsarenormallybrasscased,longerthansportingroundssotheycannotbeloadedintoanormalpumpaction
shotgun.Thebrasscaseabsorbsalotoftheheatgeneratedonfiring,andsoallowstheautomaticshotgunstorunquite
cool.IfaCAWSwastousenormalshotgunshellsitcouldoverheatandjam,possiblyevenwarpandmelt.Anyshotgun
capableoffullautofirethat'susingnormalroundscountsasoneclasslessreliable.
Brasscasedammocostsslightlymore(costx1.5)andisusuallyhardertogetholdof,asitsonlyrealuseisinFullauto
weapons

MAGAZINES
Mostofthemodernshotgunsuseatubularmagazineunderthebarrel,whichcanhold6or7rounds.Atubularclipispossible,with
thewholetubemagazinebeingunfastenedandanewfullonebeinglockedintoplace,butnotonanormalpumpactionmodel.
Tiltingbarrelswhichtakeslideinplastictubeclipsalsoallowfastreloading.TwinTubemagazineweaponsdoexist,usuallypump/
gasautomatic.Thesefeedingshellsalternatelyfromeachmagazine(withaselectorswitchallowingonemagazinetobefiredfirst)
