Following community input on 07.18.17, the design revisions for the proposed 113 N. May project
involve lowering the overall building height, increasing its setbacks, reducing its total guestroom
quantity, and redesigning its exterior above the podium.
The overall building height was lowered from 199 to 173. Along Washington Blvd. and May St. the
height was lowered from 199 to 155, nearly a 25% reduction. Three stories were removed from the
project in their entirety. The setback along Washington Blvd. was increased from 5 to 54, a 1000%
increase in total setbacks. The guestroom portion of the facade was redesigned with a window
system and column grid even more reflective of the neighborhood context. Overall, the proposed
building is significantly shorter and respects recommended setbacks.
