2017-2018 Science- Grade 7

Course Content
The 7thgrade science curriculum is a yearlong course that will teach The Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts and Literacy in
History/Social Studies, Science, and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS.)

Grading
Student will be assessed on the following: Science Interactive Notebook, tests, quizzes, labs, and projects, writing samples, classwork, movie
reflections, and other assessments as needed. Grades will be posted to Infinite Campus and updated weekly.

Classroom Rules/Consequences
Initially: Teacher(s) will directly teach all classroom expectations to students.
Incident 1: Teacher(s) will address the classroom behavior/problem through the use of positive interventions.
Incident 2: Teacher(s) will apply interventions that are reasonable and appropriate (Ex: Think Sheet, warning, seat change)
Incident 3: Teacher(s) will contact parents for each infraction after a warning and document the contact.
Incident 4: Student will be referred to administration
Teachers reserve the right to adjust the order of discipline according to the severity of each individual incident.

Materials
Students will need the following materials from the supply list: pencil, red pen, blue or black pen, colored pencils/markers, and a binder with
dividers, folder paper, and pencil pouch. If a student is unable to bring the required supplies, the student or parent may contact me for assistance.
Also, please refer to the student planner page 6 for items that are considered prohibited contraband.

Student Responsibilities
Come prepared to class with a charged Chrome Book and maintain an organized Interactive Notebook (INB)
Complete daily assigned work and make up missed work if absent
Complete all projects, labs, and writing samples on time and in a quality manner
