2017-2018 OHUSC Library Policies

Any student currently enrolled in a school in the Oak Hill United School Corporation may
borrow books from any of the school libraries within the Oak Hill United School Corporation in
accordance with each schools library book rental policy.

Oak Hill High School Library Policy

Students currently enrolled in Oak Hill High School may borrow books from any of the
school libraries within the Oak Hill United School Corporation in accordance with the
lending schools library policy.
Students may borrow up to three library books from the high school simultaneously.
Additional items may be checked out with librarian approval if the student is in
good standing with the library.
The loan period for a book is three weeks (fifteen school days) for no charge. If the item
is not returned or renewed by the fifteenth day, the item is overdue.
Once an item is overdue, there will be a grace period of two school days. During this
grace period, students may return or renew the overdue item one time with no additional
charge.
After the grace period, if a student chooses to keep the item for an extended period
without renewal, the rental charge is $ .10 per day.

*The first three weeks are free. After the first three weeks plus an additional grace period of
two school days, the student will be charged a rental price of $ .10/day for items not returned or
renewed.

Email notifications:
Students will receive automatic reminders via email notification the day before
their book is due, on the due date, and each day that the item is in overdue
status.
Parents/guardians will receive an automatic email notification once weekly after
the grace period has ended to notify them of the charge(s) for the missing
item(s).

Missing/Lost or Damaged Items- If a borrowed item is lost or damage, the student is


responsible for replacing the item by one of the following options:
Option 1: The student must purchase and replace the item with a replica of equal
or greater value.
The replacement item must be in equal or better condition of the item
being replaced.
The replacement item must have the same or better binding [hardcover
replaces hardcover, paperbacks may replace paperbacks only]
Option 2: The student must pay the amount to replace the item.
The replacement price is determined by the librarian based upon the
current cost to replace the item plus shipping and handling from one of
the librarians preferred OHUSC approved book vendors.

Swayzee Elementary Library Policy

Students currently enrolled in Swayzee Elementary may borrow books from any of the
school libraries within the Oak Hill United School Corporation in accordance with the
lending schools library policy.
Students are scheduled to come to the library with their class once a week. If a student
forgets their book on the designated scheduled class time, the library is open and
students may bring the item during homeroom any day of the week. [Students may also
come in anytime throughout the day when the library is open with permission from their
classroom teacher.]
Students may borrow two library book2 at a time.
Students who wish to check out additional books, and have a history of no
overdue items may do so with librarian approval.
