Section Four: Alignment to Curriculum & Professional Standards

Introduction

As previously mentioned section four displays the aforementioned artifacts in a graphic

organizer displaying the curriculum and professional education standards that each artifact

addresses in a neat simple style including demonstrating a mathematics geometry lesson plan, a

winter/summer solstice power point art work lesson plan that incorporated cross-curricular

subjects such as science and dramatic arts into it. There is a science, technology, engineering,

art, mathematics (s.t.e.a.m) hands on engaging lesson plan that was implemented over three

consecutive learning blocks. I had included an artifact that demonstrates my ability to perform

assessments in the artifact entitled, assessing student literacy. A SMART Notebook certificate

which establishes a professional development achievement including the new knowledge of

incorporating technology into the classroom as is depicted in various different lesson plans

provided as artifacts. I included a work and health safety certificate, another professional

development accomplishment demonstrating teacher candidate readiness and willingness to go

the extra mile to continuously learn and grow as an individual and professional educator. There

is an exciting ancient Egyptian lesson plan that consisted of technology integration and lastly my

most beloved artifact, my SMART Notebook presentation which again is cross-curricular

between mathematics, science, English language arts with the common theme of Fancy Nancy

interwoven throughout it.

This section displays the aforementioned artifacts in a graphic organizer depicting all the

standards each artifact met. These standards include:

Conclusion

In conclusion throughout this portfolio section the curriculum and professional standards

were connected to the eight differing artifacts presented in the previous section three. Part three

and four of the portfolio coincide as what is discussed in part three is now displayed in the form

of a neat and simple style of a graphic organizer depicting various professional standards,

Ontario and New York State code of ethics and curriculum guidelines. This was an incredible

experience as I have never aligned so many standards and code of ethics in a graphic organizer

before, it truly brings the quality of all the aforementioned artifacts vividly before my eyes at a

quick glance.
