neurology related symposiums.

Laboratory Immunohistochemical analysis of axolotl retinal cells Aug 2016- Dec 2016
Experience In this research lab, I worked alongside Elizabeth Debski, Ph.D. at the University of Kentucky to analyze
the regeneration of retinal ganglion cells in axolotl species. Several unique skills I obtained while
working in this lab include how to operate a confocal microscope, GFP staining techniques, and proper
animal handling techniques.

Colorimic sequencing of DNA nucleotides Jan 2015- Apr 2015
In this laboratory, I worked with Steven Testa, Ph.D. and five undergraduates at the University of
Kentucky to integrate the use of redox reactions and colorimetry to identify specific DNA nucleotides.
We were successful in reacting all of the nucleotides by lowering the pH of the solutions, and found a
way to increase the speed of the reaction using manganese chloride as a catalyst. This project was
presented in the undergraduate research symposium.

Education University of Kentucky Aug 2014- May 2018
I am currently working to obtain a Bachelors of Science degree in Neuroscience and a minor in
Psychology. I am completing this coursework at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY and I
plan to graduate in May of 2018. I plan on furthering my education by attending medical school
and would like to specialize in an area involving the brain.
