Lounge Here

Lounge Here Duck into this cozy East Dallas spot that's big on charm. It's owned by Julie Doyle, a
member of local band Polyphonic Spree, and her partner Tony Barsotti, who embraced 1970s design and
furnishings to give the space a refined yet comfortable vibe. Doyle intended it to feel "like an extension
of my living room." That, coupled with a slim menu of Southern-inspired bites, has proved a winning
combination -- since opening in October, Lounge Here has become a popular hangout among
neighborhood residents. Get there early (the bar opens at 4 p.m.) to avoid a wait, which can sometimes
run an hour or more. We also recommend stopping in the neighboring Good Pagoda gift and record
shop, also owned by members of the Spree.

Lounge Here is located at 9028 Garland Road, Dallas. Hours of operation are Sunday from 4 p.m. to
midnight, Tuesday through Wednesday 4 p.m. to midnight, and Thursday through Saturday 4 p.m. to 2
a.m. It's closed Monday.

Craft Beer Cellar

Craft Beer Cellar is a beer store first, a bar second, but it's easy to enjoy both in a single trip. Grab a draft
pour from the rotating lineup of brews and peruse the rows of shelves and refrigerated space filled with
hundreds of bottles and cans. The chilled stuff is organized by style, which makes it easy to find exactly
what you're in the mood for. You can even grab one out of the case to drink onsite for an extra $2
corking fee. Craft Beer Cellar also fills growlers, and if you're undecided about what to get, sample a few
by purchasing 5-ounce pours, which range $2.50-$5.

Craft Beer Cellar is located at 6324 Gaston Ave., Dallas. Hours of operations are Monday through
Saturday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday noon to 6 p.m.

Jettison

Intimate is the best way to describe this hole in the wall that recently opened at Sylvan Thirty in West
Dallas. Snag a seat at one of the few tables or belly up to the bar and you'll be rewarded with excellent
cocktails and service to match. The concept comes from Sean Henry, owner of Austin export
Houndstooth Coffee, which adjoins the Jettison space. The menu here is rife with creativity, from the
Manhattan, TX, a riff on an Old Fashioned featuring two whiskeys, dry vermouth and bitters, to the
Sherry Cobbler, a draft cocktail served with fruit jam and berries. Looking for something more
straightforward? Sip on something from the bar's small but mighty list of sherry, mezcal, scotch or
whiskey.

Jettison is located at 1878 Slyvan Ave., Suite E150, Dallas. Hours of operation are Tuesday through
Thursday 4 to 11 p.m., and Friday through Saturday 4 p.m. to midnight. It's closed Sunday and Monday.

Sixty Vines

Wine lovers, welcome to your new paradise. Sixty Vines is the latest in a lineage of chic eateries from
Front Burner Restaurants, which includes Whiskey Cake and Velvet Taco. The name refers to the number
of taps behind the bar -- 40 are devoted to wine, the others are split between beer and cold brew coffee.
There are dozens more bottles of vino to choose from, so many that guests are seated with an iPad that
reads like a wine encyclopedia and can filter choices by style, region or even grape. The restaurant also
has a proprietary brand called Vine Huggers, which is made from grapes grown in Sonoma's Dry Creek
Valley. Find something you like? Take it home in a growler.

Sixty Vines is located at 3701 Dallas Pkwy., Plano. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday 11
a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. to midnight, Saturday 9 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Noble Rey at the Dallas Farmers Market

Since its revamp, the Dallas Farmers Market food hall has been a hotspot for almost any type of cuisine
imaginable. It was, however, lacking when it came to libations until Noble Rey Brewing Co. opened a
quaint satellite bar in the middle of the action. Noble Rey brews its beer at a facility in Dallas' Design
District, but they serve it by the pint, 6-pack, growler or crowler at the Farmers Market. Grab a bite from
one of the neighboring food stands and belly up.

Noble Rey Brewing Co. at the Dallas Farmers Market is located at 920 S. Harwood St., Suite 125, Dallas.
Hours of operation are Monday through Wednesday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday through Saturday 11
a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday noon to 7 p.m.

Dot's Hop House and Cocktail Courtyard

Deep Ellum is full of trendy places to eat and drink, but this newcomer is a must-try for its lively
atmosphere and wealth of drink options. Dot's has two bars, one inside and one outside, that boast a
total 119 draft taps. Most of them sport beer -- oh the choices! -- but there are a few draft cocktails also,
including an Old Fashioned. Expect to find Texas-sized bar grub here and football on every TV on
Sundays. Keep this place in mind for the uncharacteristically warm winter days; Dot's has a sprawling,
10,000-square-foot beer garden that's great for big groups.

Dot's Hop House and Cocktail Courtyard is located at 2645 Commerce St., Dallas. Hours of operation are
Monday through Sunday 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.

The Parlor on Commerce

Check pretentiousness at the door of this new Deep Ellum dive. The guys behind the Parlor on
Commerce aimed to be nothing too fancy, and that's what you'll find in addition to 16 beers on tap,
another 50 in bottles and cans, and 70 whiskeys to choose from. The business, which opened on Nov. 15,
also has a kitchen, but is currently offering a limited menu of items. Co-owner Seth Byars says to expect a
full array of "quality bar food and bar snacks" at the first of the year. Until then, it's worth the trip for a
libation and a couple of turns on the Playboy pinball machine, which is free.

The Parlor on Commerce is located at 2651 Commerce St., Dallas. Hours of operation are currently
Monday through Sunday 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., though they may expand in the future.
Haymaker

This addition to Lower Greenville comes by way of Austin, where the first location opened; consider it a
jack of all trades. There are dozens of beers on tap between the two indoor bars, and numerous others
in cans and bottles. There's an extensive whiskey list, an outdoor patio and beer garden, bar games
including shuffle board, cornhole, darts and pool, and TVs throughout the space. The food menu is a mix
of comfort and bar grub, including sandwiches and poutine. You'll rarely have a hard time finding
seating; the place is just that big.

Haymaker is located at 1520 Greenville Ave., Dallas. Hours of operation are Sunday through Friday 11
a.m. to midnight, and Saturday 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.

What's on Tap - Keller

Shortly after Bradley Trapnell opened a growler bar in Highland Village, he knew the model was a recipe
for success. What's on Tap opened its second location in November near Keller Town Center and it's
largely the same concept. The bar has 40 taps for draft beer and a limited wine menu, plus swag from
breweries and growlers for sale. What's on Tap regularly hosts pint nights and other events, but you
needn't come on any special day to enjoy a brew, especially when patio weather hits in the spring.

What's on Tap - Keller is located at 201 Town Center Lane, Suite 1107, Keller. Hours of operation are
Monday through Thursday 2 p.m. to 11 p.m., Friday through Saturday noon to 11:30 p.m., and Sunday
noon to 7 p.m.

Lone Star Taps and Caps - Fort Worth

Speaking of growler bars, another local brand has expanded to add a third location, this one in Cowtown.
Lone Star Taps and Caps is equal parts bar and beer store, with 50 draft taps of beer to enjoy onsite and
more than 300 bottles and cans that can be taken to-go. Since the owners also own a retail shop in
Carrollton, Taps and Caps has built a reputation for offering both quality and quantity in selection. This
location, near Ridglea Theater, is no different.

Lone Star Taps and Caps - Fort Worth is located at 6115 Camp Bowie Blvd., Suite 114, Fort Worth. Hours
of operation are Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to midnight, Friday through Saturday 11 a.m. to
midnight, and Sunday noon to 10 p.m.
