Homework & Make-Up Work:

I am not a believer in excessive homework. When homework is assigned, it is because I
believe it is valuable to student learning. As a result, homework is due at the beginning of
class on the due date. Students will be allowed to complete make-up assignments missed
during absences according to school policy. If a student would like extra help or practice, I
can always find valuable practice for them to do even when there is not homework.
However, extra credit is not an option.

Classroom Rules: Teacher Expectations:

assignments can be resubmitted up to the unit exam.

Attendance Attendance will be taken within the first five minutes of class on
a daily basis. Students are expected to be in their assigned seats
and working on bell work before the tardy bell.

Not working on bell work at the sound of the tardy bell

will result in being marked tardy.

WGHS Tardy Policy:

o The first tardy results in a warning.

o Tardies two, three, and four result in parent contact
and lunch detention.
o Five or more tardies will result in a referral.
o After ten tardies, the student will be dropped from the
class with no credit.

Food and Drink Student will ask permission before consuming food or drink
other than water and follow all WGHS food and drink policies.

Textbooks and Calculators

Textbooks will be provided to students as a courtesy by the school. Students (not
teachers!) are responsible for their textbooks, including damage to them. Please be
aware that students are financially responsible for the books they are issued. Textbooks
should not be left in the classroom, unless a prior agreement has been made with the
teacher.

Calculators will be available in the classroom only. Students will not be able to take
calculators home. Therefore, it is extremely encouraged that students purchase a TI-
83, TI-84, or TI Inspire model calculator to have as their own to use at home and in
class. Purchasing a calculator is a wise investment because it will be used in all classes at
WGHS and in any college mathematics class.
