(5 minutes)
1. Teacher shows the front cover of the storybook Turtles Flute to Turtles Flute

the pupils by covering the title and asking pupils to guess the title of
the story.
2. Pupils guess the title of the storybook.
3. Teacher provides clues if needed.
4. Teacher leads into the lesson of the day.

Pre-writing Brainstorming Teaching aid : Video clip of the story

(15 minutes) Turtles Flute


1. Teacher plays a video clip of the story Turtles Flute and asks the
(Appendix 2)
pupils to write down the important points.
2. Teacher ends the video before the ending part.
3. Then, each group receives a manila card and a marker pen from CCTS:
the teacher.
i. MI : Visual-spatial intelligence
4. In groups of five, teacher asks the pupils to do a mind map based
on the story Turtles Flute using the points they written earlier.
5. Teacher and pupils discusses the answers.

While-writing Rewrite the story CCTS:

(20 minutes) i. Creative thinking : Generate ideas,


1. Pupils remain in the same group.
Draw conclusion
2. Teacher distributes each group with a poster sheet and a marker
pen.
3. Teacher asks each group to come out with their own ending for the Moral value : Cooperation
story Turtles Flute based on their imagination.
4. After that, teacher asks the pupils to rewrite the story on the poster
sheet provided using their own choice of words.
5. Teacher asks one person to be the writer and the other members in
the group to contribute their idea to modify the story by changing
the characters and the musical instrument. For instance, pupils
change the Turtle character in the story to Rabbit; and the flute to
any other musical instruments such as drum or tambourine.
6. Once completed, teacher hang the poster sheets in various places
around the classroom.
7. Pupils take turn to read other groups story and compare them with
theirs.
8. Teacher makes adjustment to the stories if necessary and corrects
pupils spelling errors if there are any.
9. Pupils go back to their seats.

Post-writing Design a new front cover for the story Teaching aid : Handmade front cover for the

(20 minutes) story Turtles Flute.


1. Pupils remain in the same group.
2. Teacher provides an A4 paper, marker pens and color pencils to (Refer to Appendix 3)
each group.

3. Teacher shows a sample of handmade front cover for the story

4. Each group designs a front cover for their new story. ii. Creative thinking : Design / Innovate
5. Then, teacher randomly selects a representative from each group.
6. The selected pupils go to the front of the class and show their new
cover to everyone.
Moral value : Cooperation
7. Teacher praises and rewards the group with creative and colorful
cover page.

Closure Recap CCTS :

(5 minutes) MI : Visual-spatial Intelligence


1. Teacher plays the video clip of the story Turtles Flute to show the
ending part to the pupils.
2. Pupils compare the ending part that they have created with the
original version of the story.
