OBJECTIVE I aim to inspire students to develop their true potential both in and outside of the classroom.

Majored in biology with a minor in French. Studied abroad at the University of KwaZulu-Natal
in South Africa for five months, and participated in a hands-on biology placement at Kadoorie
Farms and Botanical Gardens in Hong Kong.

French Immersion High School Graduate, R.S. McLaughlin C.V.I. (Ontario) 2012
International language certificate for intensive study in English, French and Spanish. Class
valedictorian, honors student and recipient of the student recognition award.

TEACHING Grade 4 Teacher Candidate, Terry Fox Public School (Ontario) Mar. - May 2017
EXPERIENCE Created and implement lessons for 100% of student instruction; collaborated with peer
teacher candidate to develop two cross-curricular math units; strengthened classroom
management skills and strategies to keep students on task by fostering a positive and inclusive
classroom; and evaluated student progress by developing specific success criteria and rubrics.

Grade 3 Teacher Candidate, Bayview Heights Public School (Ontario) Jan. - Mar. 2017
Created differentiated lesson plans to meet the needs of diverse learners; assisted in a
provincial school board math project focusing on students use of manipulatives and their
strategies to solve problems; assisted in the assessment and analysis of mock provincial
standardized tests to target areas of improvement; assisted with extracurricular activities such
as Battle of the Books, robotics club and educational field trips.

EXPERIENCE Managed 30 students in individual and group settings to ensure their mental health, physical
well-being and safety as they transitioned from high school to college. Created programs for
academic assistance, maintaining a balanced lifestyle and life skills. Inspired students to take
their learning beyond the classroom and become global citizens. Was responsible for weekly
visits, duty shifts and planning field trips. Received the Programming Excellence Award.

Marine Life Specialist and Camp Counsellor, Beach Camp (Seattle, WA) Summer 2015
Supervised aquatic zones, and activities such as excursions with kayaks, paddleboards,
sailboats, rowing, snorkeling and swim time on the trapeze, zip-line and high tower.
Responsible for 20 new overnight campers each week. Managed the aquarium and touch tank.

Lifeguard and Swim Instructor, YMCA (US and Canada locations) 2010 - 2016
Supervised indoor pools and taught differentiated lessons to individuals from infants to adults
including people with mental and physical disabilities. Coached the swim team.
