Congratulations on your purchase of this WWK-861 multiband amplifier!

Our equipment is manufactured in accordance with worldwide quality standards and

fulfils the requirements of all certificates and homologations required for this kind of
equipment.
This device was designed and manufactured in accordance with ISO-9001 procedures,
using the latest generation components.

I. Application

WWK-861

S1.. S3 - Channel path switches UHF1 ... UHF3 - UHF Antenna inputs
S4 - UHF3 Input bands VHF - VHF Antenna input
(UHF / VHF+UHF)
switch BI/FM - FM Antenna input
P1...P6 - UHF band channel ATT - Attenuator
paths

The WWK-861 amplifier is designed for use in antenna systems receiving terrestrial
analogue and digital TV programs in detached houses, residences, terrace houses,
hotels, boarding houses, holiday centers, schools, hospitals, etc. - even situated in
places with difficult reception conditions, where the received signals have different
levels and are coming from different directions. WWK-861 enables to receive these
signals, to equalize their levels and to amplify them. The WWK-861 amplifier can be
used as an independent unit or as a part of multiswitch system as well as a part of a
simple head-end station (860 MHz system).

II. Amplifier connection and activation
1. Never connect or start the WWK–861 amplifier until the installation of the
receiving antennas has been completed. In order to select the correct antenna type
you should precisely examine the receiving conditions, that is:
The amount of TV channnels operating in the region and the TV channels
number, on which the signals are transmitted.
The signal levels received from the transmitter – they will predetermine
possible usage of directional antenna with high gain or suitable preamplifier
assembly
The transmitters located in the region – if the signals are received from different
directions there is need of assembling the individual antenna (antennas) for
each direction.
2. Connect antennas to the amplifier inputs:
• TV bands IV and V antennas (470...862 MHz) – to UHF1, UHF2 inputs,
• TV bands III antennas (174…230 MHz) – to VHF input,
• FM antenna (47...108 MHz) – to BI/FM input.

Caution:
It is recommended to connect to this input the antenna receiving the most of TV
channels.
It is possible to connect to UHF1, UHF2, and UHF3 inputs antennas with
preamplifiers. Preamplifiers will be detected automatically and the 12V DC
voltage will be provided on proper input.
UHF3 input is universal input. This input allows to connect:
- TV band IV and V antenna, or
- TV band III, IV and V antenna (VHF input will be disconnected, UHF3 input
becomes wideband input VHF+UHF – see Table 1), or
- additional devices (video camera with A/V modulator, satellite receiver, etc.)
Possible combination of TV bands and VHF and UHF3 inputs depends on S3
switch position shown in Table 1.

3. Using S1, S2 and S3 switches, assign the required number of channel paths
P1…P6 to both of the UHF inputs. Possible combination of inputs and channel
paths are shown in Table 2.

4. Not used inputs and outputs should be terminated with 75 resistors.

Every channel path conatains two regulators:

- the „21...69” regulator – multi-turn, enables to tune the filter to the correct channel,
and
- the „ ” regulator – the one-turn, for the gain adjustment.
1. The regulators „21...69” set in the right end position.
2. The regulators „ ” set in middle position.
3. Connect mains plug to the power outlet.
A. Programming with signal level meter
1. Connect the signal level meter to the amplifiers output. If necessary use a proper
attenuator.
2. Select the proper channel number on the level meter.
3. Select the regulator „21...69” corresponding to the chosen channel number and
get the maximum value on the level meter turning it left.
4. Using the gain regulator „ ”, set the required signal level.
5. Repeat steps from point 2 to 4 until all UHF channels are assigned to channel
paths.
B. Programming with TV receiver
1. Connect TV receiver to the amplifier output through the 20 dB attenuator.

4 2713-2902-108
ver. 1.0
2. Choose the TV channel to which channel path P1 will be assigned.
3. Tune using the regulator „21...69” selected channel path to get the best picture on
TV. At closing to point of proper filter alignment, the picture quality should be
better. Remember, that in case of high signal level, it is hard to observe picture
quality improvement, because of signal excess will be aligned by auto gain
regulation system in TV receiver. In such case, reduce signal level by gain
regulator „ ” of chosen channel. At lowered level, filter tuning enables to
observe the picture quality changes. Then the maximum output signal level will be
corresponding to the best picture quality.
Caution: It is not recommended to set the gain regulators „ ” in the right end
position.
4. Repeat steps from point 2 and 3 until all UHF channels are assigned to channel
paths.

III. VHF output signals settings
Using the gain regulator „ ” of UHF range, set the required output signal level.

IV. FM path
The BI/FM path is not adjustable.

V. Connecting of additional devices

Additional devices (video recorder, PC, camera with A/V modulator, etc.) can be
connected after switching off the amplifier. For this purpose UHF3 input should be
used. Signal level can be adjusted by ATT attenuator.

VI. Final amplifier regulation

This regulation could be necessary in case of amplifier adjustment with use of TV set.
Connect amplifier output to the installation. Check the picture quality in all the outlet
sockets. If necessary, perform correction of signals by proper gain regulators.

SAFETY:
1. To achieve proper ventilation, no objects should be placed at the distance smaller
than 5 cm from the device.
2. The device should not be covered by any objects like papers, tablecloths,
hangings, etc.
3. Placing of open fire sources, like burning candles, nearby the device is not
recommended.
4. The device should be operated in a temperate climate.
5. The device should not be exposed to drops and splashing water.
6. No objects filled with water should be placed on the device.
