Chapter 12

1. To understand more about yourself is the realization of your position on the individualism
versus group-centeredness spectrum: (See page 311) Where would you place yourself on this
spectrum and why? Have you been raised to choose and pursue your own individual goal or
to do what is best for the group (family) to which you belong?
I would place myself right on individualism because, when I am focoused on 1 goal all of my
energy is into that 1 specific thing. I have been raised to pursue my own individual goal but
also do what is best for my family in the long run.
2. Extraverts are energized by being with other people; Introverts are energized by spending
time alone. Which is most true of you and why?
Im way more of an Extravert because, I prefer to have fun with everyone and see
everyone having a good time rather than just sit by myself and have fun even though I an
still do that also.
3. Sensors value realism and common sense; Intuitives value imagination and innovation.
Which is most true of you and why?
I am sensor because, I see myself as someone who likes to get strait to the point and
sometimes I get frustrated when people dont use common sense for simple things.
4. Thinkers value logic, justice, fairness, and one standard for all; Feelers value empathy and
harmony and see the exception to the rule. Which is most true of you and why?
Im more of a Feeler because, yes I value realism and common sense but at the end of the day
I am still human so I do empathize and seek exception to some rules.
5. Judgers prefer knowing what they are getting into: Perceivers like adapting to new
situations. Which is most true of you and why?
I would label myself as a Perceiver because, not that I like adapting to them but I like
new situations because it keeps me on my toes and keeps my mind thinking and I dont
get bored.
6. How are your multiple intelligences and personality type similar? How do they differ?
Especially address learning approaches that are similar and different for each.
Both my multiple intelligence and personality type help to understand and interact
effectively with others. They differ because, my multiple intelligences say that I am able
to interpret nonverbal cues and me being a sensor I value realism and to me nonverbal
cues are not realism I cannot deal with signs very well.

7. What are your strengths associated with your multiple intelligences and your personality
type? What are your weaknesses associated with each?
With my M.I I have a sensitivity to the moods and temperaments of others and my
personality I am a Feeler so I value empathy and harmony and see the exception to the rule.
8. Which of the multiple intelligences would you like to develop more fully? Explain several
strategies that you can implement for yourself. Complete the same exercise for a personality
preferences that you would like to strengthen.
I would like to develop my Intrapersonal intelligence more because, you can never stop
learning about yourself. I could really get into what I like as a person find out who I
really am or I could dive deeper into my Bible and find out who the Lord really wants me
to be. Id like to strengthen my Perceiver personality. I could get more into the new
situations or I could change the way I think about those situations.

9. Based on your evaluation of your multiple intelligences and personality type, list at least
three possible career choices for you to consider. Why are these careers good possibilities for
you?
Music Teacher: I am great with music and its very in touch with my Extraverts because I
can have fun with everyone who enjoys music.
Sports Coach: This will be more of my Sensor because, sports is all about getting strait to the
point and winning and who doesnt love to win.
Police Officer: This would be my Perceiver because I like having new situations that will
keep my mind thinking.
10. Look back over the descriptions of the four temperaments in this chapter. What temperament
would you elect for yourself and why?
Artisans I think because, I love freedom, action, excitement, and variation.
