Energy Auditing done by the governmental organisations.

So what is Cycle Heat Rate

It is the cycle eciency. Like mathematically say the Input/Output.

Heat Input usually is measured at the Boiler Inlet to the Boiler Outlet. In casual terms it is
the indirect heat received by Coal.

Heat Output is the energy produced by the Output of Turbine usually measured in kW over
a period of same time. Power x Time is Energy btw :P

So as you get it HEAT RATE is Energy spent to get Power. Less the energy spent for
producing given Power or More the Power produced for same energy input indicates
optimum usage of resources or ecient operation. Heat Rate as a comparison measurement
(as is usually with all investment-related things), indicates how ecient the Power plant is
for the given investement and components used.

Study of Heat Rate in details is the basis of many Phd theses. So to go in depth will give you
so many details w.r.t. Component eectiveness, Financial aspects that this answer would
not be able to accommodate.
