Subject: Hiring Guidelines for Senior High School (SHS) Teaching Positions for School Year
(SY) 2017-2018

1. In compliance with DepEd Order No. 3, s. 2016, reHiring Guidelines for SHS Teaching Positions
Effective SY 2016-2017and DepEd Order 32, s. 2016 re Addendum to DO 3, s. 2016, this Office
announces the conduct of School and Division assessment of SHS teacher applicants for SY 2017-
2018 in the following tracks and strands using the same Order.

Group I. HUMSS and the following subject groupings:


I-A: Oral Communication, Reading and Writing, English for
Academic and Professional Purposes, Practical Research
I-B : Komunikasyon at Pananaliksik sa Wika at Kulturang
Pilipino,Pagbasa at Pagsusuri ng lba't ibang Teksto sa
Pananaliksik,Pagsulat sa Filipino sa Piling Larangan
I-C : 21st Century Literature from the Philippines and the World;
Contemporary Philippine Arts from the Region;
Understanding Culture, Society and Politics; Introduction to
the Philosophy of the Human Person and related specialized
HUMSS subjects
I-D: Media and Information Literacy; Empowerment Technologies
(for the Strands)
Group II. ABM and Entrepreneurship, Research and Work Immersion
Group III. STEM and the following subject groupings:
lll-A: General Mathematics, Statistics and Probability and related
specialized STEM subjects
III-B: Earth Science, Earth and Life Science, Physical Science and
related specialized STEM subjects

Group IV. TVL and the following specializations:


IV-A: Specialized TVL/Agri-Fisheries
IV-B: Specialized TVL!Industrial Arts
IV-C: Specialized TVL/ICT
IV -D: Specialized TVL/Home Economics

2. Two types of applicants are considered to this Assessment, to wit:


a. Employed
i. Those with plantilla items from DepEd and other regular government employees.
Specify salary grade.
u. Those interested from the p1ivate basic education schools, colleges/universities
and business/industry sector, practitioners, engineers, accountants, etc) and
entrepreneurs, etc.
b. Unemployed
i. Those fresh graduates in Education with LET or none
ii. Those non-Education graduates (engineering, accountancy, management, etc)
111. Those who were retrenched, etc.

3. To establish clarity of the qualification of applicants, minimwn Qualification Standards per


Teaching Position, DepEd Order No. 3, s. 2016 will be followed.

For Academic Tracks and Core Subjects.


Bachelor's degree majoring in the relevant strands/subject; or any Bachelor's degree with
at least 15 units of specialization in relevant strand/subject

Arts and Design Track


Bachelor's degree majoring in the field(s) under the Track; or any Bachelor's degree with
at least 15 units of specialization in relevant strand/subject

Sports Track
Bachelor's degree majoring in the fields under the Track; or any Bachelor's degree with
at least 15 units of specialization in fields under the Track

Technical-Vocational Livelihood Track


Bachelor's degree holder or technical vocational course(s) in the area of specialization.

S. Each qualified applicant, Teachers, Professionals, Practitioners, or Experts, is required to prepare


his/her letter of intent specifying what SHS Subject Group/Sub-group(s) he/she intends to teach
addressed to the Schools Division Superintendent Attention: School Head together with the
supporting documents. The applicant must prepare three (3) sets - 1 original, 2 photocopies. Applicant
must always hold his/her ORIGINAL for validation. The documents shall be submitted to the
Secondary School Heads of schools nearest to their residence or where the applicant intends to
apply with on or before March 3, 2017. Secondary Schools must establish the validity and reliability
of applicant documents.

Note that in case he/she is due for appointment, he/she will be appointed in schools where his/her
services are much needed, whether on lowland or upland schools.
6. The School Screening Committee and School Personnel Selection Board shall be created by the
School Head and perform functions in accordance with DepEd Order 3, s. 2016 and DepEd Order
66, s. 2007.
It also verifies and certifies as to completeness, veracity, accuracy and authenticity
of documents by accomplishing SSC Fonn 1 (refer to Inclosure 1, template is
downloadable on DepEd NV website. Include numerical results to be validated by
the Division Selection Committee.

The photocopy with the certification will be forwarded to the SDO Attention
HRMO through the Records Section on or before March 14, 2017. Submit two
sets: (a) Deped Employee applicants and (b) other applicants.
The other photocopy will serve as file for the School and the original copy to be
kept by the applicant for emergency reference during the assessment proper.

7. To have better assistance and monitoring of the activities, the Education Program Supervisors.
Public Schools District Supervisors/District in-Charge.
8. The Division Selection Committee (DSC) chaired by the OIC-Assistant Schools Division
Superintendent shall assess all documents using the evaluation criteria and prepare the Registry of
Qualified Applicants (RQA) as required in the DepEd Order.

9. The English Proficiency Test will be conducted tentatively on March 5, 2017. Further confirmation
will be announced later.
