Dear Members of Congress:

On behalf of more than 3.2 million Americans for Prosperity activists across all 50 states, we
look forward to seeing House Republicans pass a budget resolution that provides a pathway for
important policy priorities; however, we reiterate our continued opposition to the inclusion of the
harmful Border Adjustment Tax (BAT) in the budgets tax reform package.

The budget resolution would provide the vehicle for passing comprehensive, pro-growth tax
reform this year. This is the first step toward delivering a fairer, flatter, and simpler tax code that
works better for everyday Americans. We urge lawmakers to remove the BAT, in any form, from
consideration moving forward. This would protect American consumers from the proposed $1
trillion tax hike on the purchases they make every day.

Americans for Prosperity will not support a budget resolution that leaves the door open for the
inclusion of a Border Adjustment Tax on consumers.

Earlier this year, Americans for Prosperity launched a multimillion dollar campaign to support
overhauling the tax code, which involves paid media efforts and grassroots engagement
throughout the summer in our 36 state chapters.

We look forward to working with you toward the shared goals of putting the nations finances
back on the path to balance and modernizing the tax code in a way that improves the lives of
American families and businesses.
