Our Neighbourhood Plan - next steps to adoption

OKRA Studio, architects with some planning experience, attended the meeting to see if
they can also assist in driving our NP forward. They were given a brief history of the NP
and where we are. The OBF can decide how to proceed once their proposal is
submitted.

Funding: Thomas H is investigating the Locality funding option, to clarify criteria: in trust
and legal entity.

Action: Lisa to provide them with all necessary documentation and information, they will
review and make a proposal week commencing 8 May.

New Council high-rise vision for St Thomas St and Bermondsey St in

'consultation'

Mark Bacons update: Southwark Council's 2010 Supplementary Planning Document

proposed a 'Tall-buildings zone' in Bermondsey St and St Thomas St. The community
objected and helped overthrow this plan but since 2010, the same area has been seen
slipping back into Southwark Councils developments plans. Most recently in the New
Southwark Plan Area visions and site allocations, the council has labelled the area NSP53
- a key potential development site.

Action: send a mail-out urging people to object to this by the deadline of 28 April.

Copy of the full email: Oppose the new Council high-rise vision

Beormund School sell-off

Russell: We are still fighting the council for their justification in their extermination of
schools in the borough.

Amy is looking into the possibility of opening a Free School, and the assistance offered by
the New Schools Network.

Anti-social developments update

Old Ticino Bakery, 176-178 Bermondsey Street.

The owner has been left in the lurch by the developers who now owe her some 3million
for the site. On Southwarks planning website the planning application only recently
changed status from pending decision to application decided.
We continue to be brushed off by the council who deny that the building is of any historic
value or that the new development will detract from the character of Bermondsey Street.
