INTRODUCTION
As we know that we are living in the world of globalization. English language is a common
language and is spoken in many countries Therefore it is very important among school children.
In order to enhance student's interests in learning English, different marvelous and interesting
activities were held during the week. The SJKC Ladang Sungai Salak, Seremban English teacher
had planned two English language programmes in the English Week to be implemented at
school. First, programme make song dedication and play English songs through PA system.
Second, programme a stage presentionation during morning in hall.

Aims and Objektives Programme


There are two aims of this programme. First, to encourage all pupils to use English Language as
a medium of interaction with their friends and teachers. This can encourage them start using
English Language as early as can. Secondly, do appreciate the opportunity to be exposed to the
English language through song.

Target Group
Year 1 to Year 5

Duration of Programme
The English Week was carried out from 11 April until 15 April 2011. All activities were carried
out when during the morning reading (7.00a.m. to7.15a.m.) and recess (10.10a.m to 10.20a.m.)
in hall .

Report on implementation of Programme


The programme make songs dedication and play English songs through PA system was the first
activity carried out during the English Week. The planning like the following timetable.
Day Morning (7.00am) Recess Teachers in charged
Monday 1. Pupils make songs Lee Siew Seong (Year 4) ,
dedication then play the Goh Wei Ying (Year 2)
Tuesday Play English songs with the help of Kok Soon Tee (Year 5) ,
songs or English teacher. (Eg: My name is Chin Kwan Tai (Year 1)
Wednesday Wong Swee Sun (Year 4 ) ,
rhymes. Jolene. I am from 5K. I

Strengths and weaknesses of the programme


The implementation programme of making song dedication and play English songs through PA
system are successful. All the activities were carried out smoothly. However, there were some
strengths and weaknesses found when carrying out this programme. The table below shows the
strengths and weaknesses of the programme.

a. Strengths of programme
- All the teachers gave full cooperation
All the teachers had played their roles according to the organizing committee.
- Pupils are attracted by the English song
When the pupils dedicate a English song, they need to speak in English in front their
classmates and teacher. The other pupils had attract by the English song when teacher played
the song and they sang the song by following the music.

- Improve the skill of speaking and hearing pupils in the English language.
This activity provided an apportunity to the pupils to improve skills of speaking and hearing
English language. All of the English Song have being pupils heard.

a. Weaknessess of programme
- Overtime
The activity song dedication overtime because pupils are weak in speaking English. Teacher
may to guide them to compete the speaking.

Suggestions and Recommendations


In order to make Programme song dedication and play English song more successful in the
future, The English Language Panel would like to give some suggestions and
recommendations. First, it is suggested that the duration of programme song dedication and
play English song to be extended to two weeks next year. That will enable more activities to be
implemented during the song dedication. Second, attention for the time control, dont
influence the time for next plan.

The school administration must also take immediate action to repair and improve the quality of
the school P.A system for a better quality of pupils presentation. Students have built up their
confidence in English speaking. Their motivation in learning the language is enhanced.
Therefore, joining English activities is an enjoyable and fruitful experience to improve pupils
English skills.

Conclusion
This promgramme made pupils confident in themselves and they no longer afraid to stand up to
present their speech in front of people. It is hoped that the next programme implemented by the
English Language Panel of SJK(C) Ladang Sungai Salak, Seremban be benefitted by all
students. Learning English language not enough for the pupils to improve their skills of
speaking, listening, reading and writing in the classroom only, but it may participated by the
programme and activity.

Programme a stage presentation for morning in hall


Aims and Objektives Programme
There are two aims of this programme. First, create an Enlish environment , to encourage pupils
to use English language, let pupils speak with standard English Language. Secondly, let the
pupils expose with English words and sentence structures, this can increased pupils multi-
language flu.

Target Group
Year 1 to Year 5

Duration of Programme
The English Week was carried out from 11 April until 15 May 2011. All activities were carried
out from morning session at 7.15 a.m to 7.30a.m .

Report on implementation of Programme


The programme stage presentation for morning session was the second activity carried out
during the English Week. The planning is like the following timetable.

Strengths and weaknesses of the programme


The implementation programme of state presentation for morning session are successful. All the
activities were carried out smoothly. However, there were some strengths and weaknesses found
when carry out this programme. The table below shows the strengths and weaknesses of the
programme.
a. Strengths of programme
- All the teachers gave cooperation
All the teachers are very cooperative. Most pupils tell reciting English short stories
- Build the confidence to speak English
When the pupilss success is reflected through their confident performances and endless
praises from their teachers, fellow-classmates and judges. Their abilities to overcome fear
and to build strong self-confidence .
- Improve the skill of speaking in the English language.
This activity provided an opportunity to the pupils to improve skills of speaking English
language. The English teacher will lead pupils to tell English articles in class, the pupils
present according to the timetable. English speaking pupils is to progressing.

a. Weaknessess of programme
- Time is not enough for presentation
The time for activity presentation is not enough. Some pupils did not recite their articles,
especially pupils who is weak in English language needs more guidance from teachers. Some
weak pupils can't read the whole article.

Suggestions and Recommendations


In order to make Programme state presentation for morning session more successful in the
future, The English Language Panel would like to give some suggestions and recommendations.
First, it is suggested that the duration of programme state presentation dont clash with the other
programme. Given at least thirty minutes to carry out activities. Second, prepare the different
articles according to pupils ability.

Conclusion
This promgramme made pupils could speak fluently and confidently in front of the audience, let
pupils familiar with English word and sentence structure, increased pupils multi-language flu.
Through the presentation, pupils have motivation in learning the language is improved. This
programme which is meaningful and was the type of event pupils seldom have. they will learn
more vocabulary about investigations. It is hoped that the next programme implemented by the
English Language Panel of SJK(C) Ladang Sungai Salak, Seremban be benefitted by all pupils.
Encourage the pupils motivated to learn and use English effectively and improve theirs public
speaking skills and organization skills.
