assess understanding and comprehension of information.
LESSON TIMELINE:
2 minutes-Greet class and settle students at seats
5 minutes- Introduce Kandinsky
4 minutes- Students view video Wassily Kandinsky
2 minutes- Invite students to carpet area
8 minutes- Define and discuss abstract art
16 minutes- Teacher guided discussion on Kandinsky, use of art elements in his art,
meaning of his artworks, abstract art
5 minutes- Teacher reads The Noisy Paintbox by Barbara Rosenstock
10 minutes-Teacher plays music used by Kandinsky and students discuss how music
plays a part in his creation process
7 minutes- Teacher introduces Abstract Art assignment and shows completed
examples
1 minutes-Students lined up and dismissed.
